2x23 "Live Together, Die Alone" (Current)

(edit) The title of this blog is 2x23 "Live Together, Die Alone" (Current) (end edit)

Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, and Michael:

1. Did that freakish bird scream out "Hurley?" I can't say for sure but the second time around it almost did sound like it did, and not "after it crapped gold."

2. Michael didn't lead them to the Other's camp, but to an entirely different location. It seems that the Others are able to think 3, 4, even 5 moves ahead of the survivors.

3. WTF is with the Others? They didn't seem to care all that much that Kate knew the truth about Mr. Friendly. In fact they don't even care if any of the castaways learned any of their names. Although Henry Gale seemed to be concerned that Tom (aka Mr. Friendly) didn't have his beard when he arrived.

4. Are Michael and Walt really going to leave the Island? I'd sure hope not. I'd sure like to know what happened to Walt this past season.

5. The Others aren't interested in Hurley it seems. Could it have anything to with the numbers?

6. We know of at least four people the Others are interested in: Jack, Sawyer, Kate, and Locke. They could have captured all four of them at once, without any elaborate schemes, in "the Hunting Party," but they didn't. Why not?

Locke and Desmond

1. Desmond crashed the plane! Wow that's some powerful magnet.

2. According to the official podcast for this episode, putting the emergency key into that switch caused that white flash, which made the island visible to the outside world for a brief moment.

3. What is the fate of Locke, Desmond, and Eko? Are they dead? Alive? OH THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!

Sayid, Jin, and Sun

1. Traveling around the Island, the encounter a giant stone foot with only four toes. Is this part of a statue of Homer Simpson?

2. It's clear from the emptiness of the Other's camp that they are highly nomadic. They close up shop and move to a new location whenever someone could get close enough to spot them. However it does not explain the lack of the Hatch that they keep guarded.

The "Challah"

1. According to the official podcast those scientists are speaking Brazilian Portuguese which means that they are from Brazil, so one could assume that they are in the Anartic.

2. The numbers on the computer screen is actually 4x8x15x16x23x42.

3. The white flash is what registered on their computer.

4. Why is Penelope Widmore looking for the Island? Some people I've spoken to about this believe that she may still be searching for Desmond, but the next question would be, "how does she even know that he is still alive?"

Final thoughts for season two:

1. Hopefully this show will expend most of the mythology during the Lost Experience. I say that because I'd like to see the show get back to the character development that made season one so brilliant.

2. With Jack, Sawyer, and Kate captured, maybe we'll see what happened to the tailies that got caputred.

3. If you wanna talk degrees of separation, the DHARMA Initiative is funded by the Hanso Foundation, which is affiliated with the Widmore Corporation. According to "Bad Twin" the New York headquaters of the Hanso Foundation is located on the 42nd floor of the Widmore Corporation building. The Widmore Corporation can be located on the 47th floor, the top floor. This could imply that it is not Hanso, but that Widmore is the "man behind the curtain."

Oh god they'll never believe me.

Okay I know this is off topic but I have to get this out here. I just listened to DjDan's latest podcast. The topic of his show this time is the Life Extention Project that is run by the Hanso Foundation. Now bear in mind that I DO NOT VISIT MESSAGE BOARDS, AND I DON'T READ THE COMMENTS ON THE OFFICIAL LOST EXPERIENCE BLOGS! With that said, I was pondering the fact that Alvar Hanso hadn't been seen since 2002, and I had a thought (a really jumbled, fucked up line of reasoning mind you) that Alvar Hanso was a willing test subject for the LEP and it backfired, causing him to devolve, which effectively turned him into Joop. I dismissed the thought immediately because I didn't understand my line of thinking well enough to explain it in a message board post.

Now, three weeks later, here's DjDan saying that Alvar Hanso may in fact be Joop. Oh god I should have said something sooner. Nobody will ever believe me now that it's been revealed in the game.

2x23: "Live Together, Die Alone" (Flashbacks)

Okay, lets start with the flashback. It's Desmond day in the sun today and what deep, dark secrets are in the original man in the box's past? Points of interest:

Number 1: Released from prison for insubordination in Her Majesty's army. Only possession: a copy of "Our Mutual Friend," by Charles Dickens. Ex-boyfriend of one Penelope Widmore. Her father, Charles Widmore intercepted every letter Desmond sent to her during his time in prison. He offers Desmond a large sum of money to stay away from his daughter but Desmond refuses.

NOTE: When I say Widmore, I mean the same Widmore in Widmore Labs, the company that manufactured Sun's pregnancy test and the same Widmore that appeared in the billboard we didn't actually see during Charlie's flashback in "Fire + Water." Interesting company you're keeping there, Desmond. Also, could "Our Mutual Friend" be a potential easter egg with a clue about the show?

Number 2: Later on at a coffee shop in Los Angeles Desmond encounters Libby who is grieving over the loss of her husband. She pays for his latte, and then, upon learning of his intention to enter a sailing race which spans the entire globe, she gives Desmond her husband's boat (aptly named "Elizabeth"), and Desmond swears he will "win this race for love."

NOTE: Hey, look everyone! It's Libby! I guess it's safe to assume that she will be appearing in other flashbacks next season and we will get some understanding of her story. Could her husband's death have anything to do with her being instutionalized? Also, Charles Widmore is financing the race that Desmond is about to enter. Wouldn't it be great to see the look on his face if Desmond were to win that race?

Number 3: After his boat veers terribly off course, Desmond winds up on the Island. He is rescued and brought into the Hatch by Kelvin Inman, who is disappointed to learn that Desmond isn't his replacement. Desmond and Kelvin lived inside the hatch together for three years until Desmond killed Kelvin after learning that Kelvin was secretly repairing Desmond wrecked sailboat and planning to leave the island without Desmond.

NOTE: A whole shitload of information is revealed here!
a) The Hatch is stationed over an area of electromagnetism which is constantly building up. Entering the code every 108 minutes keeps the electromagnetism in check.
b) Kelvin had an emergency key which could be inserted into an ignition lock underneath the hatch which could diffuse the buildup of electromagnetism entirely.
c) Kelvin's former partner, Radzinsky, made several edits to the Orientation film, started painting the invisible map on the blast door (which Kelvin later continued), and committed suicide when living in the Hatch became too unbearable.
d) On the day Desmond killed Kelvin, he stayed outside of the hatch for too long and the timer ran down to zero. The electromagnetism was so powerful that it crashed Oceanic Flight 815.
e) Kelvin is the CIA operative who forced Sayid to torture information out of one of Sayid's superior officers.

Afterthoughts: Some of the characters on the show have some obscure connection with other crash survivors but Desmond really takes the cake. He's met Jack, Libby, and the Widmore family before ever winding up on the island. I still believe that anyone who asks the question, "why are these people so connected?" is asking the right question.

In one of DjDan's podcasts, he interviews a student who was offered a scholarship by the Hanso Foundation where he then was tricked into working on a project that would create an EMP weapon that could theoretically bring down the moon. Could the experiments inside the hatch have been an earlier attempt at building such a weapon?

Welcome to the 4815162342nd "Lost" themed blog!

Hello, welcome to my nice little blog here. My name here is Sage and as you can tell, I am a dedicated fan of the tv show Lost. I like it so much that I find my self thinking about it to the point where I can make rediculous long shot connections to from late season two episodes all the way back to the pilot episode. Yes I think so much, that I realized that I needed an outlet for it so I've opened this blog. I'll do a post for each episode when season three starts but before that, I might do character blogs breaking down the plot development with each character during the course of season 2.

What I will not do, however is post anything in direct regard to the Lost Experience. I may refer to some of the facts revealed in this game in some of my posts, but I will leave any and all analysis concerning the Lost Experience to my fellow bloggers over at http://thelostexperienceclues.blogspot.com. Bear in mind that this blog will contain spoilers so don't read unless you are already up to date. I hope I can make things easier to understand. Namaste.
