3x9 - "Stranger In A Strange Land" Present

So the promo promised to reveal three of the biggest mysteries on the show. What are they, you ask? Lets take a look.

MYSTERY #1: What is the fate of the Taillies who were captured during the first 48 days? They're fine, living a better life, and they're there to watch something. Not all that big considering that scene was one of the many "Lost Moments," ABC aired during the hiatus.

MYSTERY #2: Why don't the Others have a medical doctor? Because they're doctor was a man named Ethan, who was ultimately killed by Charlie. COULD SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME, WHAT KIND OF MEDICAL DOCTOR MURDERS, CAPTURES, AND HANGS PEOPLE BLINDFOLDED? MIGHT I ADD THAT IT WAS VERY SMART OF BEN TO SEND HIS ONLY DOCTOR TO DO THIS SORT OF DIRTYWORK?

MYSTERY #3: What do Jack's chinese tatoos say? "He walks amongst us but he is not one of us." Now what do they mean? Not that I haven't been curious, but I don't think it's all that big in the mythology of the show.

I'll be bashing the people who made that promo later, right now lets get to some more noteworthy things about this episode.

1. Jack is attempting to forge an alliance with Juilet. A very dangerous move, as we don't know where Juilet's loyalty truly lies.

2. How did Ben's stitches get infected so soon? We all know that Jack is a professional, and if the Others have any clue about medical treatment at all, one can assume that all of the equipment used for the surgery would have been sterilized.

3. That symbol Juilet is marked with is the Mark of Cain. It "is God's symbol of both shame over Cain's actions, and a commandment that he not be killed." - http://www.lostpedia.com.

That about does it. I'm not gonna write about the scenes with Karl, Kate and Sawyer (although Sawyer was really kind to Karl), as you could have seen that dialogue coming. Stay tuned for my message to the people who make the Lost promos.

I'm glad that you figured out the three things, 'cause I was really bewildered. I think it's kinda great that Ethan was the surgeon, and that he did the dirty work. The more I find out about him, the more he becomes one of my favorite characters. Maybe, like Juliet, he was the closest thing they had to a surgeon. Maybe he's just a badass. My assumption of what they were watching was the trial, to see what it's like amongst the others, but who knows. I'm wondering very much what will happen with Jack and Juliet. You can't combine their names well, you just get Juck and Jaliet.

Oh yeah Ethan's a total badass, but I still have to ask, why send your only surgeon out into a dangerous line of work? You think the Taillies were maybe watching the trial? Interesting.
