6x16 "What They Died For" Alternate 2004

1. It seems that cut Jack had at the start of the season is getting worse. Shouldn't that have healed by now.

2. David's telling Jack not to get weird if we see the as of yet to be named mother. Is it because she's dating somebody new?

3. Wait a second, Desmond totally crank called Jack. Jack's not gonna like what he's being led to.

4. The way Desmond punches Ben triggers Ben's memories of the original reality.

5. It would seem that Ben has the same injuries he incurred during his altercation with Desmond last season.

6. Meanwhile, Locke's call to the LAPD gets routed to the same precinct that Sawyer and Miles work at.

7. I'm beginning to think that Desmond knows where exactly everybody is at any given time in this universe. There is no way he could know that they had Kate and Sayid in the same place.

8. "We insist. Even if we have to kidnap you." These writers sure have a strange sense of humor.

9. So John's speech to Jack sounds like John is becoming a man of faith.

10. Sawyer believes Kate's innocence? Does that mean Kate is innocent in this timeline?

11. Ana Lucia's the one taking the bribe. It really is like a class reunion!

6x16 "What They Died For" Island

1. A nod to the pilot as Jack stitches up Kate with a needle and a thread.

2. So how does one kill the smoke Monster? Is it even possible?

3. So Miles found himself standing on what would be Alex's grave. Seems he can still hear whispers after all this time.

4. Who told Ben that room could summon the Monster?

5. And finally, the long awaited reunion between Ben Linus and Charles Widmore.

6. If Jacob truly visited Widmore, then it could explain the nightmares Widmore claimed to be having in "The Shape of Things to Come."

7. As sad as it sounds, Sawyer did in fact kill Sun, Jin and Sayid by pulling the wires.

8. Why did young Jacob appear to Hurley instead of adult Jacob?

9. Looks like Alpert was wrong about Locke wanting him to join his side.

10. Ah, Ben. So eager to sacrifice Charles Widmore.

11. So Ben kills Widmore before Widmore can tell Locke about his plan to use Desmond?

12. So this episode confirms that the Whispers can appear in human form to one or more persons at a time.

13. So Jacob chose the people he chose because their lives were meaningless off the Island.

14. Kate's name was crossed off because she had to raise Aaron.

15. With no hesitation, Jack chooses the job as Protector of the Island.

16. Does the bamboo prevent non-Protectors from getting near the light?

17. How is Desmond going to prevent Locke from leaving the Island?

18. How is Desmond going to help Locke destroy the Island?

6x15 "Across the Sea"

1. If what the women we know as "Mother," is telling the truth, there is nobody on the Island, who's roots or ancestry is truly from the Island.

2. I think Mother may have brought Claudia's ship to the Island.

3. Claudia's first child is named Jacob. However, since she did not know she was carrying twins, she was not able to pick a name for her second child. The second child would simply be known as "Brother."

4. It looks like the board game is a precursor to Backgammon.

5. Mother tells the young Brother that he is special. Does she believe him to be her replacement at this point?

6. According to Mother, death is something Brother won't have to worry about.

7. Mother is the guardian of the Source. It's essentially the same light that exists inside of every human being. The people who come to the Island, are looking for the Source.

8. Why could Brother see Claudia, but not Jacob?

9. Is Claudia the Monster or a Whisper?

10. Why does Mother believe that the Others are bad?

11. So 30 years later, Jacob and Brother still meet and play their game. Brother is using them to find a way off the Island.

12. And it would seem that he has found his way off. Brother was the one who dug the many wells throughout the Island, investigating the magnetism.

13. The way Jacob told Mother about Brother's plan, it's clear Jacob was spying for her the whole time.

14. The way to leave the Island: build what we would learn to be "the frozen donkey wheel." It uses a system that channels the water and the light, and when turned, it will enable the user to leave.

15. Drinking the wine is the ceremony that allows one to become the protector of the Island.

16. Entering the light makes one "worse then death." Did Mother even know what could happen?

17. So by herself, Mother torched the entire settlement that was on the Island. What exactly did she do?

18. In his rage, Brother killed Mother, in retaliation, Jacob dragged Brother into the light, killing him as well, and releasing the Monster. Jacob returned Brother's body to the cave, placing it beside Mother, and the two would soon be known as Adam and Eve.

19. Now, what I have to say next is speculation. The Monster, is NOT Brother. In the few times we've seen Jacob and the Monster together in events prior to "The Incident," the Monster appears in the form of Brother. Notice how Jacob refers to him as "My Friend" and not "My Brother." It is clearly a different entity, which preferred to use that form when it talked to Jacob.

6x14 "The Candidate" Alternate 2004

1. So the title of this episode refers to John Locke's potential to be eligible for a paralysis-reversing surgery.

2. The way Bernard talks about their encounter on Oceanic 815, it seems like he knows more then he's letting on.

3. Why does Bernard remember Anthony Cooper? Did Locke tell Bernard something after the emergency surgery?

4. It's funny how Jack still feels the need to fix Locke after saving his life, but he's still the "Man of Faith" in this episode.

5. In this reality, Anthony Cooper is trapped in a vegetative state. If he is the same man who conned Sawyer's parents, what will Sawyer do if he finds him?

6. In Locke's sleep he says, "push the button;" and "I wish you had believed me." Is he starting to remember the Island now consciously now?

7. One thing that's still the same is the way Christian Shepherd died: alcohol poisoning.

8. And now Jack and Claire know that they were on the same flight.

9. Christian wanted Claire to have the music box, because it plays "Catch a Falling Star," a song he sang to Claire when she was little.

10. John Locke is a plane crash survivor. He must have had to have gone through a great deal of therapy in order to be able to fly on a plane again.

11. Because Anthony Cooper was on the plane John Locke was piloting, Locke punishes himself by not allowing any chance for himself to get better.

12. Now it's Jack's turn to say, "I wish you believed me." I really love the role reversal in this reality.

6x14 "The Candidate" Island

1. With Locke and the remaining candidates on Hydra Island, he's now one step closer to leaving.

2. Again, why isn't Kate a candidate anymore? What did she do that made Jacob cross her name off?

3. Locke's lying. He can't kill the candidates himself. If he could, that would have been the first thing he did after Jacob died.

4. And now, Jin had his ring back.

5. The Monster knew how to disarm the C4 form having scanned Locke's back in "Walkabout." Remember in "Enter 77," Locke was able to successfully remove a block of C4 from the Flame.

6. Is it possible that Ben and Alpert were the ones who planted the C4?

7. And right before they take the submarine, Locke switches their backpacks. How come Jack didn't notice. There had to have been a weight difference plus the straps might feel different, etc.

8. Locke looked like his arms were having spasms as he pulled himself out of the water.

9. Jack is right. Locke can't kill them, but if someone were to tamper with the bomb that Locke planted, it would trigger the explosion.

10. What does Sayid mean by saying, "it's going to be you, Jack." Is Jack the true replacement for Jacob?

11. How ironic that Sayid, who Sawyer once accused of causing the plane crash, actually committed a suicide bombing to save everyone else.

12. So Jin chooses to stay with Sun for their final moments together while everyone else leaves the sub.

13. Sayid, Jin, Sun, and Lapidus are all dead. Now only Jack and Sawyer are the only two remaining candidates.

6x13 "The Last Recruit" Alternate 2004

1. How ironic that Ben Linus is escorting Locke to the hospital, when Ben originally killed Locke in the original timeline.

2. Sun seems to be remembering Locke as the monster from the original timeline.

3. Why does Kate insist on her innocence? Did her mother commit the murder this time?

4. I have to say that I like the romantic tension between Sawyer and Kate in this timeline. It feels like season one allover again.

5. There certain things I'm willing to believe about this show, but I can't believe that Desmond knew that Ilana was looking for Claire. There is just no way Desmond could have obtained that information unless he endangered attorney-client privilege.

6. Surprise, surprise, Sayid is arrested by Sawyer and Miles. More and more people are coming together now.

7. It seems that Jack and David are trying to be closer in the wake of the events in "Lighthouse," and it seems like it's working.

8. Sun and her baby have survived their ordeal. I didn't mention this in the last blog, but if Sun's stayed faithful to Jin in this timeline, then it means that Jin can have children. Sun also doesn't seem to remember having remembered Locke in the other timeline.

9. In this episode, Jack is remembering John Locke from the plane, and not from the original timeline.

6x13 - "The Last Recruit" Island

1. So Christian Shepherd was the monster? Then why did he refer to Jack as his son when he was in Christian's form? Furthermore, was that the monster that appeared to Jack in "Something Nice Back Home," or was that truly the ghost of Christian Shepherd?

2. How is it that hearing Locke's word means instant allegiance? According to Jacob, there's still a concept of free will. Everyone has to make a choice.

3. How is Widmore able to firebomb the Island? Why would he for that matter? If the Island is destroyed, wouldn't that enable Locke to leave the Island?

4. So this time, Sawyer and Kate get on the boat together. Unlike near the end of season one where they were fighting for a spot on the raft.

5. If Locke wanted Desmond dead, why didn't he kill himself? Is Desmond a candidate, unable to be killed by the Monster?

6. So Sayid's not completely souless if he was able to spare Desmond? And who or what exactly brought Sayid back to life?

7. How exactly did Locke find the Elizabeth? The last we ever saw of it, Ben's people commandeered it, and it was presumably taken to Hydra Island.

8. In contrast to, "There's No Place Like Home," Jack is the one who jumps off into the ocean instead of Sawyer.

9. At long last, Sun and Jin are reunited.

10. The sound Jack hears when the bombs drop is similar to what Charlie hears in "Live Together, Die Alone."

6x12 "Everybody Loves Hugo" Alternate 2004

1. Hurley's spent so much money, his name is synonymous with Donald Trump.

2. Hurley's mother is exactly the same with Hurley and women in this reality.

3. Hurley actually mistook Libby for Rosalita in the restaurant.

4. She's at the same mental hospital that she and Hurley were at in the original reality.

5. Desmond's trying to get Hurley and Libby together. It would seem that Desmond's goal is to unite the 815 passengers. I guess that would make him this reality's Jacob.

6. All it took for Libby to remember Hurley in her other life was to see him on TV. She must have had the same feelings for him that Daniel had for Charlotte. However, seeing Libby didn't trigger Hurley's memories of the Island. Different people have different triggers, it would seem.

7. So Hurley in spite of Libby's outrageous story (outrageous to Hurley anyway), he takes her out on a date. Great move! Date the crazy girl who digs you.

8. But all joking aside, Hurley did make sure to bring a blanket for the beach picnic this time.

9. Is it possible that the original reality's Libby is experiencing flashes of the alternate reality? Is that why she was watching Hurley at the end of "Dave?"

10. The kiss on the beach triggered Hurley's memories of his other life.

11. And Desmond is watching with interest. What does he plan to do after he unites everybody?

12. Haha, Ben suspected Desmond of being a pedophile.

13. The next stage in Desmond's plan, run over John Locke. Locke is left with the same facial injuries as when he fell from Anthony Cooper's hotel room. Desmond must be hoping that Locke will be brought to Jack's hospital.

6x12 "Everybody Loves Hugo" Island

1. So in all the time Hurley's talked to the dead, Libby's never come to visit him.

2. Hurley's latest visit is from Michael. Given that we hear the famous whispers before his appearance, I'd say the whispers are from people who died on the Island.

3. Ilana just died in the same fashion as Arzt. Why isn't there any on Hurley's shoulder?

4. So Desmond seems to have no idea that Locke is not actually Locke. Is he confused from his trip to the alternate reality.

5. Ben has a spiteful way of thinking about the Island in light of Ilana's death. He once thought the Island was done with him too.

6. Does Miles really not realize that Hurley actually sees ghosts?

7. This is the second time Locke has saw a child who shouldn't be there. Are those boys actually a young Jacob and Smoke Monster?

8. Why does Hurley believe he needs to talk to Locke? What could he say that could impact the situation?

9. Well Jack's finally learning to let go and let people fix themselves. If only he could have done that sooner, he'd be a lot happier.

10. "If you ever do see Libby again, tell her I'm sorry." - Michael. But Ana Lucia seemed to be able to talk to Libby from beyond the grave. Does that mean that the ghosts of people off the Island are those of people who moved on, and those Hurley sees on the Island are only people who haven't?

11. The well that Locke takes Desmond to is similar to the on that would later become the Orchid. Was there one at the site of the Swan?

12. The wells were dug to investigate the electromagnetism on the Island. Who else had done that before the DHARMA Initiative. Could the people Jacob brought to the Island have done it?

13. So Desmond is thrown down the well, in a sense, right back where he started when we first met him on the Island.

14. Just because Locke gave Hurley his word that he wouldn't attack the people in Hurley's camp, does that mean he would keep it? He's not Jacob after all.

6x11 - "Happily Ever After" Alternate 2004

1. The large amount of electromagnetism transferred Desmond's consciousness into the alternate reality.

2. Hurley noticed Desmond on the 815. That means that he wasn't popping in and out of this reality. There is in fact an alternate Desmond Hume.

3. George Minkowski is Desmond's driver. That's meant to be an homage to the revival of the Prisoner.

4. In this reality, Desmond is heavily invested in his work, to the point where it has earned him a place as Charles Widmore's "right hand man."

5. So Charlie was on the plane to perform with Daniel Widmore (NOT Faraday) at an event run by Eloise Widmore.

6. Widmore shares his valuable whiskey with Desmond. This is the same whiskey that he wouldn't even let Desmond touch in "Flashes Before Your Eyes."

7. This reality's Charlie remembered the original reality on a more conscious level (primarily Claire) as a result of his near death experience on the plane. It's a shame that he didn't see her on the plane.

8. In Charlie's second suicide attempt, he presses his hand up against the car window in the same fashion as he did in "Through the Looking Glass." This action trigger's Desmond's memory of his other life, as he recalls Charlie having written "Not Penny's Boat" on his hand at the end of that episode.

9. The MRI also triggers memories of Desmond's relationship with Penelope Widmore in his other life.

10. Why is Charlie running out of the hospital? What does he believe he's looking for?

11. Eloise Widmore is very ambiguous. On the one hand she seems to have the same universal knowledge that she had in the original reality. It seems like she knew that Driveshaft wasn't going to perform to begin with (even though she flipped out at a caterer for not knowing how to set a table), and then she blocks Desmond from looking at a list almost as though she's trying to block him from finding Penelope Widmore.

12. Daniel Widmore awakened his memories of his other life with his random encounter with Charlotte. It caused him to remember his love for her on a more conscious level. That event also triggered his knowledge of quantum mechanics as well. I wonder if Daniel could remember his death on the Island.

13. Penny seems to have a habit of running in the same stadium where Desmond and Jack first met.

14. Touching Penny's hand seems to have brought Desmond's memory of the Island entirely to the surface. Now he believes that he must unite the passengers of Oceanic 815.

6x11 - "Happily Ever After" Island

1. How did Charles Widmore get anywhere near Desmond in the hospital? I wonder if Penny is looking for him off the Island.

2. I hate to call the writers out, but the "generator room" they put Desmond in, is inspired by Dr. Manhattan's origin story (Watchmen).

3. Why did the DHARMA Initative have a high powered Electro-Magnet on Hydra Island?

4. Touching Penny in the alternate reality brought Desmond back to this world.

5. What does Desmond think he has to do?

6x10 - "The Package" Alternate 2004

1. In this reality, Jin and Sun aren't married. Jin, however, still works for Mr. Paik.

2. They are still in a relationship, and very much in love.

3. Sun seems to have no idea that her father is a shady businessman with dealings all over the world.

4. Sun still wants to run away to America, and she wants to take Jin with her.

5. So Keamy came to get Sun and Jin at their hotel. I guess that's what happens when you stand up a gangster.

6. Did Mr. Paik close Sun's bank account because of her relationship with Jin? I guess she's on the outs with him.

7. Oh wow. Jin was coned into paying Keamy to kill him. Mr. Paik is a cruel bastard.

8. Following the bloodbath from "Sundown" all Sayid leaves Jin with is a box-cutter to free himself.

9. Jin shot Mikhail in his bad eye.

10. Sun is pregnant, and she got shot? Wasn't she drinking champaign earlier?

6x10 - "The Package" Island

In UnLocke's camp

1. So UnLocke needs all of the surviving candidates at the time of Jacob's death to leave the Island with him in order to leave.

2. Sayid claims to not feel anything. Is that the result of being infected?

3. Widmore's people capturing Jin is like watching the Others capture 815 survivors in "The Other 48 Days."

4. So Locke plans to allow Claire to kill Kate if she so chooses.

Ilana's camp.

1. Ah Sun's garden. It takes me back to season two.

2. UnLocke is determined to unite both Jin and Sun. Although according to a recent podcast, the cave with the names may have been meant to be a dummy list for UnLocke. That could very well mean that both Jin and Sun are candidates to replace Jacob.

3. In her flight from UnLocke, Sun hit her head and trauma caused her to lose the ability to speak English, although she can still understand it.

4. So Alpert has confirmed that the plane is the only way off the Island for UnLocke.

Hydra Island

1. Jin wakes up in Room 23. The same room that Karl was trapped inside back in "Not In Portland."

2. So Jin helped the DHARMA Initiative map out the Island for electromagnetism pockets. I assume the spot where the Swan Hatch was to be built is where it is the strongest.

3. UnLocke and Sayid both left for Hydra Island but only UnLocke can be seen. Where is Sayid?

4. So UnLocke is really there to get Jin back. He must be a candidate.

5. Sun brought a camera containing pictures of Ji Yeon. Jin's seen her for the very first time.

6. And the final twist, Widmore's package is Desmond David Hume.

6x09 "Ab Aeterno" Flashback

At long last we finally get Richard Alpert's story. I've been waiting for this episode for a very long time.

1. Canary Islands, 1867. Richard is 240 years old!

2. His sick wife Isabelle gave him her cross before he went to the doctor.

3. Ah 1860's healthcare. When the doctors had the attitudes of insurance companies.

4. In his rage, Richard accidently killed the doctor. That bottle of sand in his hand is a bottle he showed young Locke in his test in "Cabin Fever."

5. And sadly, Richard couldn't make it back to Isabella in time.

6. Ah the corrupt practices of Catholic priests. Refusing to absolve one of their sin right before his execution.

7. Richard had been teaching himself and his wife English in the hopes of making a trip to the New World.

8. Richard was drafted into slave labor on the Black Rock, under the command of Magnus Hanso.

9. When the Black Rock came to the Island, it rode a wave so high it crashed through the statue. It must have been a tidal wave.

10. The officers of the Black Rock chose to kill the slaves in order to preserve their supplies. Ouch.

11. The Monster stepped in at the exact moment and wound up saving Richard's life. It scanned his mind the same way it did Eko, and used it to conjure up the image of Isabelle.

12. Using the lie that the Island is hell, the man in black convinces Richard that Jacob is the Devil. His claim that he must kill Jacob before he can speak sounds like Dogen's claim that Sayid must kill UnLocke before he can speak.

13. Man in Black also claims that Jacob took his body. Does that mean their true forms switched at some point?

14. Jacob seems to recognize the knife that Richard was given.

15. Why did Jacob resist when Richard tried to kill him but roll over when Ben came to kill him at the end of last season?

16. According to Jacob, the Island is a Pandora's Box of sorts. But if that's the case, the fact still remains that the Man in Black (assuming he's telling the truth) was human at one time.

17. Jacob brings people to try and prove that humans aren't corrupted. People truly get a new life on the Island.

18. However, Jacob doesn't want to interact with the people he brings because they must make the right choice themselves.

19. Jacob offered Richard the job of being his representative. The pay: immortality. However Jacob could not offer absolution for Richard's past sins, which leads me to believe that he is NOT God.

20. Richard was sent to deliver a white stone to the Man in Black, and he in turn was given Isabella's cross.

6x09 "Ab Aeterno" Present

1. In Ilana's flashback, we learn that she was expected to bring the candidates to Richard, as he was supposed to know what to do. Obviously Jacob died before he could tell Richard what needed to be done next.

2. It seems that Richard reverted back to believing that the Island is actually Hell in light of Jacob's death. He actually tried to leave the camp to join Locke.

3. So Hurley's visitations are no longer done in "secret." The dead people come to talk to him practically in front of everybody else.

4. Hurley's latest visit: Isabella.

5. Richard's willingness to believe that Isabella is standing next to him allows for him to hear and feel her standing next to him.

6. Isabella's last words is that Richard must stop the Man in Black from leaving the Island, or else "we all go to Hell." What happens if he's able to leave?

6x08 "Recon" Alternate 2004

1. So Sawyer pulls cons in this reality, but only he does it to trap con artists as a detective.

2. Miles is still his partner in this reality. Guess some things never change.

3. In this reality, Sawyer now knows that Anthony Cooper conned Sawyer's parents out of their money. He just doesn't know where he is.

4. Like John Locke, Sawyer is also lying about where he went.

5. Miles set Sawyer up on a date with Charlotte. Which means she also got off the Island back in 1977.

6. Why did Sawyer choose criminal over cop in the original reality, and go vice-versa in this one?

7. Why was Charlotte looking through Sawyer's drawer? Did Miles send her to investigate him?

8. Holy crap! Charlie's brother is in LA lockup!

9. Sawyer still likes Little House on the Prairie!

10. I guess the old sunflower routine doesn't work for Charlotte. It did however work for Juliet.

11. So Sawyer's intention is still to kill Anthony Cooper.

12. What the hell is Kate doing running around LA? Well she's caught now by Sawyer!

6x08 "Recon" Island

1. Sawyer's task is to carry out a recon mission on Hydra Island.

2. "You are the best liar I ever met." So how can UnLocke trust him?

3. UnLocke's plan is to take the plane and fly off the Island? Does he have a pilot available for that?

4. So Alex's dress is still at Kate's cage. Do the Others ever clean up after themselves?

5. Why is Sayid just watching as Claire tries to kill Kate?

6. Who killed all the people on Hydra Island? Was it Widmore's people?

7. UnLocke's reasoning for lying to Claire is that she needed something to hate. That means that he's responsible for every person she's killed as a result of his lie.

8. If UnLocke is not a dead man, then who exactly is he?

9. UnLocke has mommy issues. I wonder what she did? Is Aaron a potential successor to whatever UnLocke is?

10. So the war that Charles Widmore warned us about last season was between the Others and UnLocke. The pylons they're setting up are proof of that.

11. It seems that UnLocke may be wrong about Claire being crazy.

12. So Sawyer's plan is for him and Kate to steal the sub when the fighting breaks out. How does he plan to pilot it?

6x07 "Dr. Linus" Alternate 2004

1. Elba is where Napoleon was exiled, but "what was truly devastating to him was the loss of his power." Sounds like Ben after having to leave the Island.

2. In this reality, Ben is stuck at what he feels to be a dead end teaching job. He even pulls detention duty all week.

3. Ben feels like he cares more about his job then principal Reynolds.

4. Dr. Arzt teaches science at the same school as Ben.

5. Back home Ben cares for his ailing father.

6. According to this episode, the Island does in fact exist. This is a universe in which the bomb went off, and everyone who was evacuated in 1977 never went back.

7. Ben still has Alex, however as her mentor and tutor.

8. Alex is a potential student at Yale University, lacking only a letter of recommendation from a Yale alumni.

9. Principal Reynolds has been having an illicit affair with the school nurse. Now Ben sees his opportunity to seize power.

10. It's funny to watch Ben and Arzt hatch their scheme to oust the principal.

11. "Linus you're a real killer." Oh Arzt, you have no idea.

12. Linus puts his blackmail scheme into effect, only to find that Reynolds is prepared. He can have the principal job, but Alex won't get her letter of recommendation.

13. Ben has chosen to back down from his coup in favor of Alex's future and he seems more content with it. I believe this choice stems from a subconscious recollection of the original reality in which he stayed on the Island.

6x07 "Dr. Linus" Island

1. Miles can in fact sense a dead person's thoughts from their ashes. He doesn't need a body.

2. And now Ben Linus is outed as Jacob's killer.

6. Frank Lapidus missed Oceanic 815 because he overslept? How anticlimactic.

7. Jacob's last thought was that he was hoping he was wrong about Ben.

8. Now, the Monster has given us another piece of his plan - have Ben act as the new Jacob. He even magically unlocked Ben's shackle. What a standup guy.

9. Ben seems to realize that having power has only brought pain and misery throughout his life.

10. Ben's initial choice to go to Locke, stems from his abandonment issues. Ilana's choice to have Ben in her camp presumably also stems from abandonment issues.

11. I cannot believe that Miles dug up Paolo and Nikki's graves for the sake of retrieving the diamonds.

12. And lastly, how the hell did Charles Widmore find the Island?

Jack, Hurley, and Richard

1. Richard looks like he's seen better days at this point in the show.

2. So Richard was indeed a prisoner on the Black Rock.

3. In light of Jacob's death, Richard has lost his faith in the Island.

4. "When Jacob touches you, its considered a gift." Does that mean people touched by Jacob are chosen?

5. The way Richard talks has him sounding like the Jack Shepherd of the early seasons. The way Jack handles the situation has him seeming more and more like John Locke.

6. Jack is officially a believer. He now understands that he's had a purpose for a very long time. FINALLY!

7. And just like that, the Island prevents the dynamite from blowing up.

6x06 "Sundown" Alternate 2004

8. In any world, it seems, Sayid always has the capacity for murder.

9. What the hell is Jin doing in Keamy's meat locker? Was the money that was confiscated in customs at LAX meant for Keamy?

6x06 "Sundown" Island

7. Is the Monster actually offering to bring Nadia back to life for Sayid?

8. If FLocke intends to leave the Island, then why does it matter if anyone stays?

10. Why isn't Kate telling Claire that Aaron is with his grandmother?

11. So Dogen nearly killed his son because he was driving drunk. Jacob offered to save the boy, but Dogen could never see him again as a result.

12. So now that Dogen's been drowned in the water, does that mean he is really dead?

13. Ben, Ilana, Sun, and Frank reach the Temple just as the Monster arrives. Talk about your bad timing.

14. Among the people leaving the Temple in FLocke's camp is Kate. Although I doubt she's leaving willingly.

6x05 "Lighthouse" Alternate 2004

Jack and Hurley

1. Why isn't Kate allowed to join Jack and Hurley? Is this more proof that she isn't a Candidate?

2. So we finally found one of Shannon's inhalers.

3. We're back at the caves, just like in "White Rabbit.

4. Jack thinks he's chasing after the ghost of his father again, just like in "White Rabbit."

5. Ah, so Jack truly did learn his lesson. He must have realized that his life on the Island truly was better then anything he had back home.

6. Depending on where the mirror is positioned, it's possible to see a specific person's dwelling.

7. At 23 degrees, we can see Jack's house.

8. At each degree on the wheel, we see a person's name. Are all those people candidates?

9. Jack smashing the mirrors is similar to Jack smashing his father's coffin in "White Rabbit."

10. What is the important thing that Jack has to do? Is he the one who will succeed Jacob?

12. Of all the things, why does Dogen have a baseball?

13. Dogen is named after a prominent Japanese Buddhist philosopher, who founded the Sōtō Zen sect of Buddhism. OR IS HE? Given that it is possible for one to be granted immortality, this could be the very same Dogen!

14. Now that Sawyer's refused to go back to the Temple, what's next for Kate? Where could she possibly go?

15. Does Dogen think Sayid's been claimed by the Monster? Is that what happened to Rousseau's team? How does one get infected like that anyway?

6x03 "What Kate Does" Alternate 2004

4. Very thoughtful of Kate to come back for Claire. It's a parallel to the original reality, in that Kate returned to the Island to bring Claire home.

5. Claire's adoptive family folded right before the adoption. It was actually better for her to have delivered on the Island.

6. Meet Ethan Goodspeed. In this reality, the DHARMA Initiative, NEVER came to the Island, therefore Ethan was born off the Island. He still seems kinda creepy.

7. Claire still feels the need to name her child Aaron.

6x01 and 6x02 "LA X" Island

Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sawyer, Miles, Jin, and Juliet

1. How did Kate wind up attached to the tree?

2. It appears that the wreckage from the incident was ported over to the present along with the wreckage from the end of season two. That's how we know that our pasties are in the present.

3. I hate to say "I told you so," but in Jack's case, I always knew that setting off the bomb wouldn't work. "Whatever happened, happened," and nothing can change that. Any attempt to change it, no matter how significant the attempt might be could cause a time paradox. However in this case, it created an alternate reality.

4. Jacob's claim that Jin wouldn't be able to see him is false. In "the Beginning of the End," one of Hurley's fellow inmates was able to see Charlie at the mental hospital.

5. Was Jacob able to see everything that was happening on the Island at all times?

6. Jack still seems to have learned his lesson about fixing people if he's blindly letting Hurley take point on Sayid.

7. With Juliet dead, Sawyer's world is now crushed.

8. So Montand never made it anywhere near the actual temple.

9. When Juliet said that "It Worked," does that mean that she time-traveled like Desmond in "Flashes Before Your Eyes," and have seen the alternate reality that the explosion created?

10. It looks like Cindy stayed at the Temple after Ben sent her and others there at the end of season 3.

11. It would seem that Jack was always on Jacob's list, along with the rest of the people that Jacob met off the Island.

12. The water in the temple became dirty after Jacob died.

13. Sayid was placed under the water in order to heal him. One would assume that this is the same thing that was done for Ben in 1977 after Sayid shot him.

14. Jack's attempt to revive Sayid is reminiscent of his attempt to do the same for Charlie in "All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues."

15. It would seem that Sawyer and Miles are also on Jacob's list.

16. The way the Others in the Temple are reacting to the news of Jacob's death, it suggests that the Monster may be coming for them next.

17. Is that really Sayid who came back? He seems confused, in a John Locke sort of way.

Ben, Sun, Lapidus, Ilana, Richard, and FLocke

1. What happened to Jacob's body? It couldn't have burned completely like that.

2. Ben lies again about killing Jacob. That won't be kept secret for very long.

3. FLocke claims that Jacob's bodyguards are "free." Does he see Jacob as a master?

4. And now for the big reveal, FLocke, is the Monster. Now this changes everything we've seen in the ladder half of last season. This means that when Ben was Judged in "Dead is Dead," and told to do everything that "Locke" says, Ben was conned into doing the Monster's bidding by killing Jacob!

5. Why is the monster referred to as a "Who?" Who is the Monster then? Is it Esau?

6. According to FLocke, Locke's last thought was, "I don't understand." Looking back on this show, it seems that Locke never truly understood anything except for that he had nothing worth going back to the mainland for.

7. FLocke's demand: "I want to go home." If home isn't the Island, then where is it and what's keeping him on the Island?

8. According to Flocke's statement, Richard may have come to the Island on the Black Rock.

9. And lastly, what does FLocke mean by saying he's disappointed in everyone else?

6x01 and 6x02 "LA X" Alternate 2004

As this episode seems to suggest that there are two realities/timelines running side by side, I'm referring to all off Island scenes in this episode as taking place in an alternate 2004, whereas the on Island scenes take place in 2008.

On Flight 815

1. Right off the bat things are not the same as in the pilot. Cindy only gives Jack one extra bottle of liquor, and Jack spilled his drink.

2. Another difference, Rose is calm and Jack is nervous during the turbulence.

3. How did Jack get the cut on his neck, and does he remember anything that occured in the original timeline?

4. Another MAJOR difference, Desmond is on the plane. It seems like he finished that race around the world. Why don't either of them seem to realize they've met before?

5. How did the Island get submerged underwater? Is that one result of the bomb blast?

6. Kate stole Jack's pen after leaving the bathroom.

7. Another difference from the original timeline, Hurley isn't burdened as a result of having won the lottery. "I'm the luckiest guy alive," is not something our Hurley would say. Why was this Hurley in Australia?

8. One thing that is not different: Sun and Jin's marriage is still strained.

9. Another difference: Shannon is NOT on the plane. According to Boone, Shannon didn't even want to leave Australia.

10. Was Charlie trying to kill himself in the bathroom? That's another difference right there considering that Charlie had a tour to look forward to in LA.

11. Where did Desmond disappear to?

12. One thing I was hoping would be different is Locke's paralysis. With his detailed story about the walkabout, I was hoping to see him walk off of the plane under his own power.

At the airport

1. Kate makes yet another daring escape from the the Marshall. The whole thing is kinda unrealistic. Wouldn't Mars have arranged for a team of people to be waiting at LAX for their arrival?

2. Did Sawyer see Kate's handcuffs in the elevator?

3. Okay, how the hell does an airline lose track of a coffin? It's a giant coffin! On a more serious note, did Christian Shepherd get reanimated off the Island and leave the coffin in Sydney?

4. Why is Sun being referred to by her maiden name, of Paik, instead of Kwon? Are she and Jin not married.

5. Does Sun even speak english in this alternate timeline?

6. Of all the cabs for Kate to get into, she gets into one with Claire.

7. Locke's assessment of Jack's situation is fairly accurate. The airline lost Christian Shepherd's body, but they didn't actually lose Christian Shepherd.

8. Locke's knives got lost too? How come nobody else lost baggage.

9. Seems that Jack and Locke will be meeting again.

5x16 "The Incident" Jacob's Story

I feel that Jacob's story is one intertwined with the Island. Jacob seems to be caught in an ideological struggle with the man in black, who I will refer to as Esau. Jacob believes that people from the outside need to come to the Island in order for things to progress and Esau believes that the Island is not a place for outsiders to dwell. Jacob is clearly in charge as Esau is only able to watch as Jacob time and again draws people to the Island.

Clearly Jacob is not choosing at random. He spends a considerable amount of time off the Island, choosing which people he would like to see on the Island. However, for all the talk we have seen on the show about destiny, Jacob insists that the people he appears before have a choice. They can choose to go to the Island, or they can stay where they are as in the case of his interaction with Hurley.

Is he dead? Is he alive? How is it that the only loophole Esau needed to kill Jacob was to persuade someone else to do it? I have no idea. These rules are one of many things surrounding the Island that need to be explained before the show is over. And with this, I depart, until the next episode airs..

5x16 - "The Incident" Island

1. Lets say for one moment that Ben never met Jacob. What was in the cabin in "The Man Behind the Curtain?" There always seems to be a real presence in the cabin whenever whe see it.

2. If Jacob can make someone immortal, wouldn't that make him a god? Wouldn't that even make Him God?

3. "Locke's" decision to "get rid of" the Ajira passengers makes him sound like Charles Widmore.

4. Ilana's faction seems to be a seperate group of Others. Why do they have Locke's real body and where did they get it from?

5. Did "Alex" tell ben to follow John Locke, or the man impersonating Locke?

6. Again we have another group, this time Ilana's group, claiming to be the good guys. Does dedicating your life in service to the Island make one a "good guy?"

7. Who attacked the cabin and what has become of Christian Shepherd?

8. Embroidered on Ilana's cloth is the statue. Jacob gave that to Ilana as an indicator to his location.

9. Locke's claim that Ben was banished is false. For starters, Locke had to the move the Island and the fact that Ben returned sucessfully means that there is no punishment for returning to the Island after turning the Wheel.

10. After three years, the Driveshaft ring was still at Aaron's crib. Where has Claire been all this time?

11. If Jacob is capable of creating Egyptian heiroglyphics, would that place his roots in ancient Egypt?

12. How is it that a mere human being like Ben was able to kill an immortal being like Jacob?

1977

1. How is it that Faraday was able to pinpoint the exact moment of the Incident? Was he experiencing flashes?

2. I wonder if Jack and Richard's exchange about Locke made Alpert keep his interest.

3. How was the DHARMA Initiative able to build the Barracks over the underground caverns where Jughead was stored?

4. This seems to be the first episode where Jack actually kills someone.

5. How did Rose and Bernard manage to build a house and stay under the radar of the Others?

6. "This bomb is supposed to blow us back in time?" OH SHIT! It's the Red vs. Blue logic. If they're blown backwards, they'll travel in to the past. If they're blown forwards, they'll be sent into the future.

7. Jack ans Sawyer's stalemate is like watching Jack and Ben near the end of "Through the Looking Glass."

8. Jack's decision to blow up the Island tells me that he never truly learned anything from his experience throughout the show. From day one, everything he has done he did under the belief that if he just arrived at LAX, that everything would be all right.

9. I am of the opinion that a world where Oceanic flight 815 doesn't crash is a world not meant to be.

10. At long last we now know that the drill hitting the pocket of electromagnetism is what started the fabled incident which we learned of in season two.

11. Thisis the very first time a season ended and we had no idea what to expect in the next season. If the plan was successful, then that would mean that nothing in the last five seasons has happened. If it failed, it would have left the DHARMA Initiative with just enough time to cement over the electromagnetism before it got too out of hand again.

5x15 - "Follow the Leader"

Present Day

1. It seems that Richard doesn't take orders.

2. Ben's claim that Alpert is a long time advisor seems to confirm that he is in fact immortal.

3. Locke's officially an other now, even giving Sun his word that he will find a way to reunite her with Jin.

4. Why is Richard so hesitant to acknowledge Locke as the leader? That title must be a figurehead position.

5. How did Locke know that tonight would be the night that Richard spoke to him?

6. How does Locke know that not even Ben has seen Jacob?

7. So are Ben and Richard scheming together this whole time? Why go through all that trouble to con Locke like this if all that needed to be done was to just let Locke move the Island at the end of season four.

8. Why does Locke want to kill Jacob?

1977

1. Jack has really frustrated me. He claims that he's trying to avert the plane crash to avoid the misery they went through. I truly don't think he's learned anything in all the time that's passed on the show. It's clear that Jack had nothing worth living for back in Los Angeles and nothing that happened to him on the Island could have been worse then that.

2. How did the Others let the DHARMA Initiative build the Barracks over the tunnels? Did they just happen to be away at the moment.

3. Radzinsky is a douche. I'm convinced now that he didn't kill himself in the Swan, but rather that Kelvin killed him just so he wouldn't have to deal with Radzinsky anymore.

4. "We are not bad people." - Juliet Sounds like a Ben Linus line.

5. Oh so NOW Dr. Chang believes that our castaways are from the future. That would have been helpful if he did in the last episode.

6. Did Eloise tell Widmore that Daniel was their son?

7. How exactly does Radzinsky get to be in charge? Does DHARMA choose it's leaders by whoever speaks the loudest? And now Radzinsky seems like he's on a warpath with the Hostiles.

8. Again, I say Kate is a moron. She can't keep her mouth shut around Roger, and now she intends to go back to the DHARMA Initiative, EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW SHE'S NOT ONE OF THEM!

9. So Kate's on the sub, and the love triangle rears it's ugly head.

10. "Now what," is a very good question. I doubt that there are actual listed instructions on how to change the future in Faraday's journal.

5x14 - "The Variable" Island

5x14 - "The Variable" Flashbacks

3. The journal Daniel uses was a gift from Eloise.

4. The Wired magazine headline reads, "The Impossible Gets Real."

5. What did Daniel test on himself?

6. We now have confirmation from Charles Widmore himself that he planted the false plane crash.

7. Well now we know why Daniel seemed so disoriented last season. The Island was gradually healing Desmond during those early episodes.

1. Charles Widmore is Desmond's father. Obviously she's not Penelope's mother so who is?

5x13 - "Some Like It Hoth" Island

4. There are certain things about this show which annoy me, which seem to be Kate's poor showing of judgement. In season 3, she went to inform Jack about the Other's impending attack on the beach even though it was clear to everyone that it was a bad idea. Then in the conversation she was with Roger, she accidently lets on that she knows more about Ben's ordeal then she lets on.

5. Hurley doesn't actually talk to dead people. He's seeing the Monster in the form of dead castaways.

6. The other thing about this show that annoys me is Hurley's inability to keep his mouth shut.

7. And now we have it, Pierre Chang is indeed Miles' father.

8. "What body?" Seems like being in the circle of trust doesn't mean that you have all that much trust placed in you.

9. Chang doesn't seem like the kind of person who'd like country.

10. Hurley's trying to help Miles reconnect with Chang but it's not working.

11. So the numbers on the Hatchare a serial number? There's got to be more to it then that.

12. Hurley has the lamest ideas for "Empire Strikes Back." Luke and Vader talking out their problems? I'm really trying not to laugh.

13. Miles' failure to erase the security tapes from the fence, means that Sawyer's life with DHARMA will now fall apart. He can't hide Phil forever, and now all of our castaways will be suspected hostiles when they get caught.

5x13 - "Some Like It Hoth" Flashbacks

1. So Miles' ability to communicated with dead people first manifested when he was a child.

2. The scene between Miles and his dying mother confirms that Miles was born on the Island and that his father is Pierre Chang. Chang's absence from their lives adds Miles to the long list of characters with "daddy issues."

3. The man in the restaurant was a delivery man for Charles Widmore. He was bringing evidence of the faked plane crash of Oceanic 815. It seems that Mr. Friendly killed him as he showed similar evidence to Michael last season.

4. Naomi offered $1.6 million to come to the Island. He asked Ben for $3.2 million to lie about Ben's well being, simply because it was double what Widmore was willing to pay.

5. Bram, was on the plane AND he's one of Ben's people. Does that mean that Ilana also works for Ben?

6. Again, what lies in the shadow of the statue? What does the answer to that question mean?

5x12 - "Dead is Dead" Island

1. What Ben says after he wakes up supports my theory that the Monster is some sort of physical manifestation of the Island's consciousness. If it is considered scared enough to pass judgement, could that mean that Eko could have been an Other had he lived long enough?

2. It's confirmed, Ben killed Locke only after he got Locke's information on the Oceanic Six.

3. Ben's claimed to do a lot of things for the greater good of the Island. Why then did we have the pregnancy disease?

4. Ben set up Caesar just to earn Locke's trust.

5. According to the Other's moral code, allowing someone to die instead of saving their life is the same as killing them.

6. Ben probably knew all along that passengers from Oceanic 815 were in the DHARMA Initiative.

7. I would assume that Ben doesn't know anything about Christian Shepherd, if he's seriously freaking out about John Locke's resurrection.

8. If Locke knows how to find the Monster, does that mean he's officially an Other now

9. Ben is actually sorry for trying to kill Penelope?

10. What happened to Ilana and the other Ajira survivors? Did they get infected like Rousseau's team?

11. Again with the Egyptian hieroglyphs. They're all over the walls of the underside of the Temple.

12. So the Monster's flashes are flashbacks from Ben's life. It must have been the same for Eko in "the 23rd Psalm."

13. So Ben's officially been ousted and Locke is now the leader of the Others. It's been a long time coming.

5x12 - "Dead Is Dead" Flashbacks

4. Why didn't Rousseau recognize Ben when he fell into her trap in "One Of Them?"

5. Why is Widmore so territorial about the Island? He tried to cut off Juliet's hand in 1954, he orders Ben to kill Rousseau when she never intended to come to the Island in the first place.

6. Widmore had a child off Island, with a woman who was not one of the Others. Ben never tricked him into leaving the Island as Widmore claimed to John Locke in "the Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham." He was found out.

7. Desmond named his new boat, "Our Mutual Friend," after the one Charles Dickens novel he has yet to read.

8. I normally don't bash shows for being unrealistic, but BEN FIRED AT DESMOND AT POINT BLANK RANGE! DESMOND TOTALLY HAD A PULP FICTION MOMENT THERE! WHY IS HE STILL ALIVE?!

9. Ben backed out of killing Penelope because he saw her child. I guess Ben has a soft spot for mothers because he never knew his.

5x11 "Whatever Happened, Happened" On and Off Island

1. How did Kate know to sing "Catch a Falling Star" for Aaron?

2. It's confirmed that Sawyer asked Kate to look in on Cassidy and Clementine at the end of last season.

4. The woman apparently leading Aaron out of the supermarket almost looks like Claire.

5. And the final answer to Aaron's whereabouts is that Kate left him with his grandmother. Now if I can only understand why Kate won't tell Jack.

6. Is it Kate's intention to bring Claire off the Island?

On Island

1. Roger's probably going to give Ben the beating of his life when Ben recovers.

2. So Juliet has now graduated to the medical division of the DHARMA Initiative.

3. According to Miles, the basic answer to Hurley's questions is that our castaways are experiencing the events of the past for the very first time.

4. Jack has finally understood that he doesn't have to "fix things" anymore. He's decided to let go and let things happen.

5. How ironic is it that Kate, a universal blood donor was far away delivering Aaron, while Boone was dying and a blood transfusion could have saved his life.

6. I'm not buying Roger's apparent regret over the way he abused his son. Obviously it didn't change anything for Ben because Ben would go on to murder him in cold blood.

7. What's to say that Ben did in fact remember Sayid? Maybe that's why Ben treated Sayid so cruelly during the three years off the Island.

8. The fact that Juliet administered treatment to Ben might be why Ben is so heavily fixated on her as an adult. When Harper says, "you look just her," in "The Other Woman," it's because she IS "her."

9. What Richard says about Ben being different and being "one of us," leads me to believe that the Others do not take in children. Widmore himself was an Other at 17 which leads me to believe that the youngest one can be to join them is in the late teens. Maybe this is why Richard didn't take Ben back when they first meet.

5x10 - "He's Our You" On and Off Island

3. So Ilana is a bounty hunter.

4. Peter Avellino was the name of the man Sayid killed on the golf course in "The Economist." How did his family know that it was Sayid who killed him?

1. It's been four years since, the early flashbacks in "The Man Behind the Curtain."

2. I hate to say this but Radzinsky is really a tool. Maybe Kelvin killed him in the Swan station because he couldn't stand working with Radzinsky anymore?

3. "A twelve-year-old Ben Linus just gave me a chicken sandwich."

4. Jack's perfectly ok letting Swayer do the dirty work in this matter.

5. Roger's been physically abusing Ben, which makes Ben's "daddy issues" among the worst out of all our characters.

6. Why would the DHARMA Initiative come to the Island with an interrogator?

7. The DHARMA Initiative seems to make their decisions as a group, whereas the Others make decisions on the will of their leader.

8. Sayid seems convinced that he's back in 1977 to kill Ben before he grows up to become the monster Sayid sees him to be.

9. Who sent the burning DHARMA van into the barracks? Sawyer seems genuinely surprised by this.

5x09 - "Namaste" On Island

5. Looks like there's a role reversal, Ben's the honest man now and Sun's the liar for this episode.

6. The way Christian talks about the other castaways leads me to believe that they might be dead in the present day.

2. In the Flame is a small model of the Swan station.

3. Amy's baby is named Ethan. Which means that time has not changed even with the appearance of our castaways.

6. Juliet bailed Kate out of a jam reminiscent of Kate's time as a fugitive.

17. Jack's already started to grow his beard. Looks like his drug problems are in full swing.

18. If Ben and Widmore are BOTH keeping tabs on the Oceanic Six, then why haven't their respective watchdogs noticed each other?

19. Ben only visited Locke to extract information out of him. Once Ben learned what he needed to know, he went and killed him. From this point on I'm going to go with the opposite of whatever Ben says.

On Island

1. It appears that we have found a new facility on the Island. This one set up by the U.S. Government in 1954, as evidenced by the issue of Life magazine found in it.

2. Two new players have entered the arena. Their names are Caesar and Ilana.

3. The plane appears to have made a clean landing on the Island.

4. And we now have confirmation, JOHN LOCKE IS ALIVE!

5. It presence of the boats indicate that they have landed some time during Time-Shift Number Six. Who brought them to the Island, and who did Frank run off with in the other boat?

6. Locke seems a lot more forthcoming to Ilana then he ever was to his fellow castaways.

7. If Locke remembers dying then the Island truly did bring him back to life.

8. Ben Linus did not disappear with the rest of the Six. What sets him apart from the rest?

3. Jin's driving the Hurleymobile! And he's wearing a DHARMA jumpsuit. This means that the final timeshift landed those who stayed in the DHARMA era of the Island, while the Orchid was being constructed.

4. Montand lost his arm as the monster tried to drag him away.

5. Is that structure the Monster pulled him toward the Temple that Ben made reference to in the last two seasons?

1. The hieroglyphs are the same as the ones found in the Swan Hatch.

2. The music box on the beach belongs to Rousseau. Sayid would later go on to fix it in the episode Solitary.

4. Montand calls the structure the Temple. However on Ben's map, the Temple is marked with a DHARMA symbol, which suggests that a DHARMA station had been built there.

7. How does Littleton not know about Aaron at this point in the game?

8. I wonder if Norton has influence with the judge in Hurley's case.

9. Ben's idea must be to take Aaron and return to the Island by force.

1. So Jacob was even alive back in the 50's. Seems like he's immortal in the same fashion as Richard.

2. So the other who escaped Locke, Sawyer and Juliet, is a young Charles Widmore. Seems like he always has had a "shoot first ask questions later" approach for dealing with outsiders.

1. Kate pulled into the same gas station as Hurley and Sayid were pulling out. It's just like something that would happen in a FLASHBACK.

2. What brought Sun to LA? Is she the one filing the lawsuit against Kate and Aaron? Her timing seems suspicious.

3. Sun's waiting on the 31st floor. 3+1=4.

4. If Sun's right, then who is it that want's Aaron? Is it because he was born on the Island.

5. Sun's remark about Kate making "hard decisions when she has to" is a backhanded compliment.

Jack and Ben

1. Jack looks like he's already going through withdrawal. There's no way he was going to flush them away.

2. Jack has finally realized that there never was anything he had in his off Island life worth coming back to.

3. Why does Ben need to keep Locke's body safe?

Ben

1. Is Jill from the Island? Did she move the Island at one time?

2. Looks like Sayid's wound up right back in Ben's clutches.

3. How long has Ben been working for Ms. Hawking?

4. Hurley's decision to give himself up to the cops rather then go with Ben comes from Sayid's warning to "do the opposite" of whatever Ben tells you to do. What's really ironic is that scene has Ben at his most honest.

Mrs. Hawking

1. I like how her lab is in a church. It's a nice nod to the fact that science and faith have always collided on this show.

2. What happens if Ben can't get all of the six in 70 hours? Sounds like the end of the world.

5x02 - "The Lie" On Island

Time Shift Four - Sometime before the plane crash

1. Where did Sawyer get Neil's shirt from? I thought they were at an earlier time.

2. Any physical objects the castaways had with them during the initial time-shift came through with them.

3. According to Daniel, the bearing that one must head at in order to leave the Island changes depending on when one is attempting to leave the Island. That is why Michael had to head at a bearing of 325 but Frank had to stay on a bearing of 305 during all of last season.

4. Now Charlotte is having headaches and experiencing memory loss. What's happening to her and why isn't Daniel saying anything?

5. How did Miles just happen to come upon a dead boar?

6. Well here's one thing we learned about the original inhabitants of the Island: their main weapon of choice is flaming arrows.

7. Wow. Given how aggressive the DHARMA Initiative people seem to be I can see why the natives want them dead. I mean, they were going to cut off Juliet's arm BEFORE they would let her talk. That's poor interrogation skills and barbaric to boot.

8. Are they now in the time period we saw at the beginning of "Because You Left?" The Island has remained in that time for quite a while. Maybe it won't be too long in the season before Daniel gets to infiltrate DHARMA.

5x01 - "Because You Left" On Island

With this new season of Lost, I've been forced yet again to change my format. It seems that for all intents and purposes the single character flashbacks and flashforwards have stopped entirely and the events of each episode will include the entire group. I will try to seperate the content of each blog to the best of my ability but for the on Island events, I'm just gonna wing it as much as I can.

Prologue - Sometime in the 1970's

1. Marvin Candle, now known ad Dr. Pierre Chang, is playing the song, "Shotgun Willie" by Willie Nelson.

2. I wonder if the child's name is Miles? Could he have been born on the Island?

3. We have four names for this character (including three aliases), Marvin Candle, Mark Whitman, Edgar Halliwax, and his real name Pierre Chang.

4. The purpose of the Arrow is to develop defensive strategies and gather information on the original inhabitants of the Island, or the as the DHARMA Initiative likes to call them, hostiles.

5. If the construction worker is deferring to Chang about their discovery while building the Orchid Station, then he must be in charge of operations on the Island. Where, then are the Degroots?

6. The frozen wheel is behind the wall. When turned, it sends the Island through time. Does it also send the Island through space?

7. If you can't change the past, then what is the point of manipulating time?

8. It seems possible that the Island stopped flashing our castaways at this specific point in time. That seems the only way for them to have been there long enough for Daniel Faraday to infiltrate DHARMA this deeply.

End of prologue

All events covered here will be covered from the point of view from the castaways. Everything starts after the Island moved initially. I will divide up the events through each "flash."

Time Shift Number One - Shortly before Eko's beechcraft crashed on the Island

1. It seems that Faraday, Charlotte, Miles, Sawyer, Juliet, Locke, and there rest of the castaways are moving through time. Why aren't the Others moving through time as well?

2. Faraday's motorboat was inside the radius of the flash, which is why they were able to reach the Island.

3. The lack of the beach camp is the indicator that the cast is back sometime prior to the crash.

4. According to Daniel, either the castaways are now unstuck in time, or the Island is.

5. The crash of the small plane supports my theory that the Island can also move through space, as well as time. How else could a small plane taking off from Nigeria reach an Island in the South Pacific? Answer: the Island wasn't always in the South Pacific and was at one time close to Nigeria.

6. Now it's John Locke's turn to climb the vines under the beechcraft. When he comes down, he finds Ethan.

7. It didn't take very long for Ethan to reach the plane.

Time Shift Number Two - Sometime after the hatch implosion, more specifically, a point in time after Ben turned the wheel.

1. Why can't time be altered?

2. What exactly was Daniel able to learn about the DHARMA Initiative prior to coming to the Island?

3. Richard seems to be able to tell when the next flash is coming.

4. When will Locke tell Richard about the bullet in this leg?

5 . Why aren't the Others moving through time?

6. That's the same Compass that Richard presented Locke with in the "Cabin Fever" flashback.

7. Why will Locke have to die?

8. The next time Locke and Richard meet, it will most likely be some time before John Locke was born or at least before Locke reached his current age.

Time Shift Number Three - Sometime between Desmond's arrival on the Island, and the crash of Oceanic Flight 815

1. Faraday knows that Desmond was in the hatch because Sawyer told him.

2. Why did Charlotte have a nosebleed?

3. I need to make it clear that Daniel took a total gamble when he knocked on the Hatch door. He couldn't have known that Desmond was in there at THAT TIME until Desmond opened the door.

4. Is this scene the explanation as to why Desmond is Daniel's constant?

5. Why don't the rules apply to Desmond? Is it because he turned the key at the end of season two.

6. Who is Daniel's mother? Could she be Mrs. Hawkins, the jewelry store owner?

The On Island events end with time shift number four.

A parting thought, the writers have been promising for the longest time that we will learn about Rousseau's past on the Island, the four-toed statue, the Adam and Eve corpses, etc. If the castaways are moving through time they could very actually see the answers to these questions, instead of simply learning them. It is for this reason that I believe that Season Five will be the Season of the Island.

5x01 - "Because You Left" Off Island

Jack and Ben

1. Did things really go badly on the Island because Jack and the other castaways left the Island?

2. So Locke never sought out Ben? That makes no sense. Ben is the one person who could be the most instrumental in returning the Oceanic Six back to the Island.

Kate and Aaron

1. Who is Dan Norton representing, and what is their interest in Kate's relationship to Aaron?

2. Why wasn't Kate notified of this lawsuit beforehand?

3. Seems, like Kate's running away again. If she's taking the gun, she can't be planning to board a plane so where is she going?

Sun

1. Charles Widmore seems to have a great deal of influence to be able to bring Sun to a confined room.

2. The common interests between Sun and Charles Widmore is to kill Benjamin Linus. Then Sun isn't trying to get back to the Island.

Hurley and Sayid

1. Sometime between now and the time Sayid partnered with Ben, something happened to make Sayid isolate himself from Ben. I wonder what happened between them?

2. Who are the people waiting to ambush Sayid and Hurley and how did they know to wait for them? Are they connected to Widmore or has a new challenger entered the arena?

Desmond and Penelope

1. Clearly history has changed if Desmond had only just then remembered what Daniel Faraday told him on the Island.

2. Why are Desmond and Penelope living on a boat? Are in they in hiding form Ben?

4x14 "There's No Place Like Home" Part 3 Future

WHOO HOO! I FINALLY GOT THIS BLOG WRITTEN! Having a life sucks when I can't keep this blog. I'm gonna post this now, then I'm gonna clear out the cobwebs and dust that have accumilated since my last post.

Note: The flashforwards in this episode take place immediately after those in TNPLH part 2. The entire flashforward here is covered in three episodes, "Through the Looking Glass," and "There's No Place Like Home," parts two and three.

Sayid and Hurley

1. The time is 8:15 when Sayid kills the man watching the mental hospital. Why is Hurley under surveilance and who's paying for it?

2. Jeremy Bentham has been dead for two days. Cause of death: suicide?

3. Why has Sayid been watching Hurley and where do they mean to go if not the Island?

4. Hurley has been playing chess with Eko! I wonder who else he's seen? Libby perhaps?

Sun

1. Sun is currently in London. I like how her mother tells her to "fly safe."

2. What is her business with Widmore? In the only Sun-centric scene in TNPLH Part 1, she says to her father that there are two people responsible for Jin's death, her father being one of the two. Does the fact the her only flashforward scene here is shared with Charles Widmore mean he's the other?

3. It would seem that Sun is using Paik industries to find the Island.

4. "We're not the only ones who left the Island." Did Widmore once call the Island his home?

Kate

1. The voice on the phone call says "The Island needs you. You have to go back before it's too late."

2. Why is Claire telling Kate not to bring Aaron back? It also sounds like a throwback to when she says to Charlie, "Bring Aaron back!" in Exodus.

Jack and Ben

1. I never pegged Jack as the type of person to listen to rock music. I always thought of him as a classical kind of guy.

2. So now Ben Linus has come to pay his respects to Jeremy Bentham.

3. Jack and Jeremy spoke about a month ago. "Some very bad thing happened. And he told me it was my fault for leaving, and he said that I had to come back."

4. "The Island won't let you come alone." The Oceanic Six must return to the Island.

5. "Sun blames me for..." Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Jack's the other person she holds responsible.

6. "You have to do it together. All of you." Including the man in the coffin, Jeremy Bentham, which is the assumed alias that John Locke is using!

4x14 - "There's No Place Like Home" Part 3 Island

In the Orchid

1. Keamy's dying words, "wherever you go, Widmore will find you." I wonder how he'll find the Island this time.

2. Ben's line about good command decisions and bad emotional responses is bull. He never cared about any of the survivors, which is why he had no problem killing Keamy.

3. Placing metal in the chamber caused it to explode.

4. The name on Ben's coat reads "Halliwax."

5. "Whoever moves the Island can never come back." This is Ben's punishment but for what still remains to be seen.

6. Ben's people are now Locke's people. What does Richard mean by "welcome home?"

7. We see from the cut that Ben gets on his arm from falling off the ladder, that "The Shape Of Things To Come," starts right after Ben moves the Island. I wonder what exactly his plan is? Could he really be out vengeance against Widmore or is he trying to get back to the Island.

On the Chopper

1. Nothing important here other then that Sawyer's absence has stabilized the helicopter so it can return to the freighter.

On the Freighter

1. Keamy's dead, now the bomb is in play.

2. NOW the chopper's arrived. There's no way this situation will end well.

3. Jin left for the surface, but he waited too long. Is he dead or alive? My money's on alive.

4. The "whispers" can even be heard off Island. I find this interesting because when Charlie appears to Hurley, we don't hear the whispers in that scene even though it's off Island.

5. What is Christian doing on the boat and what did he mean by, "you can go now Michael?" Was he given a chance to get off the boat?

On the Beach

1. Sawyer finally made it back to the Island but the boat's gone.

2. Juliet is now hitting the liquor in response to this development. I'd hate to see her after the Island moves.

Return to the chopper/ on the life raft

1. Sun is clearly devastated by the loss of her husband. Every thing she does in the flash forwards is most likely influenced by that one moment.

2. The sound that is made when the Island moved is similar to the one that was heard at the end of season 2 when the Swan imploded.

3. Why doesn't Jack think that Locke moved the Island? What does he think happened?

4. The scene in which Penelope's boat discovers the raft is similar to the scene in which the Other's discover Michael's raft at the end of season one.

5. What made Jack decide to lie? Given his self-serving attitude on all matters leaving the Island, he seems to have no real reason to protect the Island.

6. At long last, Desmond and Penelope are finally reunited. This moment has been built up for the past two seasons.

One Week Later

1. The stage has been set for the re-emergence of the Oceanic Six. The next events that follow chronologically are the flashforward scenes in TNPLH Part one.

2. The castwaways have said their goodbyes to Desmond, Penelope, and Frank and have now sailed to Sumba to make their debut as the Oceanic Six.

4x13 - "There's No Place Like Home" Part 2 Future

Jack, Hurley, Locke, and Sawyer

1. What is John Locke doing at the Orchid? Why hasn't Ben told him what to do?

2. Why is it so important for Jack to stay on the Island? Why is he supposed to stay?

3. This is the long awaited confrontation between Jack and Locke. It's been brewing since "White Rabbit." It's clear that Jack rejects what Locke believes as opposed to simply believing it.

Ben, the mercenaries, Frank, Kate, Sayid, Alpert and the rest of the Others

1. Are the Others the ones who made the whispers before they attacked?

2. It's amazing how quickly deals are made on this show. Within an hour of Ben's capture, Kate and Sayid make theirs to get off the Island.

3. Haha, Keamy kicked the grenade to Omar!

4. If leadership over the Others was changing hands, why would Alpert come to rescue Ben?

Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Frank, and Sayid

1. It would seem that there are now two modes of transportation to the Freighter. The motorboat, and the helicopter.

2. What did Sawyer ask Kate to do before he jumped out of the helicopter? Does it have anything to do with her mysterious phone call in "Something Nice Back Home?"

Ben and Locke

1. Why didn't Locke know what plants to look for?

2. Again with the "Magic Box." Does it really matter at this point?

3. Why isn't Ben teaching Locke about moving the Island?

4. At last the full Orchid Orientation Video.

5. So this station that makes what we conisder to be time travel on this show possible.

6. HEREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE'S KEAMY! He must truly have no idea that Ben doesn't care for the castaways.

Daniel and the rest of the people on the beach.

1. Why is Miles going to stay on the Island? What's his stake in this?

2. Why has Charlotte been seraching for the Island? Could she have truly been BORN ON THE ISLAND?

On the Freighter

1. The C4 is triggered by a radio transmission, and is so well put together that there's no way to disarm it. The raido that sends the transmission is attached to Keamy.

2. Michael finally knows that Sun is pregnant!

3. The liquid nitrogen trick is real. I've seen it in "Lethal Weapon 2" and "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty."

4x12 - "There's No Place Like Home Part One" Future

1. Why did the Six agree to talk with the media?

2. We finally got to see Jack's mother for the first time since "White Rabbit."

3. Estimated crash site: Indonesia. The Six were then carried to the island of Membata. The took the raft on day 108 to the island of Sumba, and landed at Manukangga. And yet they don't have a scratch on them. How is the press believing any of this?

4. Finally, somebody asked a hard question, "why do you look so healthy?" That and "what was it like giving birth on the Island?""Are there other survivors" is also a favorite.

5. Nadia and Sayid were finally reunited. If only I didn't know what was to come next.

6. Was Sun really able to buy her father's company with the money from the Oceanic settlement, or did Hurley help her out with his own?

7. If Mr. Paik is one of two people responsible for Jin's death, then who is the other?

8. The moments leading up to Hurley's suprise party are full of reminders of the Island. The coconut, the Jesus statute that's crafted to look like one of Eko's Virgin Mary statues, and the whispers sound like the whispers heard on the Island.

9. There are certain instances of the Numbers that I'm willing to believe, but I'm not willing to believe that the odometer of the car matches the numbers. Or the fact that Hurley's dad thinks nothing of it.

10. Claire's mother recovered from her coma? But how?

11. READ WHAT I WROTE IN MY FLASHFOWARD BLOG FOR EGGTOWN! I CALLED IT! JACK KNOWS THAT HE'S RELATED TO AARON! I AM A LOST PROPHET! WOOT!

4x12 - "There's No Place Like Home Part One" Island

1. How were they able to hear the chatter on the chopper? Did Frank answer the phone?

2. I'm convinced that Jack is just a stupid and an incompetent surgeon to run off after just having surgery.

3. Sayid's finally back on the Island.

4. Sun is left to take care of Aaron for the time being. Another hint of "the Shape of Things to Come."

Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Miles, and Aaron

1. Again, Jack is being presented with a blatant warning sign about the Widmore people and here he is ignoring it.

2. Kate is left with Aaron, a precursor of "the Shape of Things to Come."

3. Sawyer only just met Frank in this episode.

Hurley, Locke and Ben

1. WTF is with the 15 year old crackers? They can't still be good, can they? Aw hell, crackers don't matter anyway.

2. Ben's ultimate plan was to let himself get captured? He must clearly be no good to Widmore anymore if he is able to use himself as a pawn like this.

Sayid and Kate

1. Look at the sheer number of Others with guns who ambushed Kate and Sayid. If Ben had all these soldiers at his command, why didn't he use them during the attack on the Barracks?

Back on the freighter

1. The massive amount of C4 is what caused the interference.

2. The bittersweet renion of Michael, Sun and Jin is interrupted by the discovery of the C4.

4x11 "Cabin Fever" Island

1. Hurley didn't realize that he was supposed to be leading the expidition!

2. If Horace is the one who built the cabin, wouldn't that make him Jacob? What's Jacob doing in Horace's cabin?

3. If Alex was born in 1988 and was taken from Rousseau a week later, that would mean that the purge happened sometime before then. However Horace claims to have been dead for twelve years, placing the purge in 1992.

4. If Ben didn't become the leader of the Others in "The Man Behind the Curtain," and Richard was the right hand man, who was the leader before Ben?

5. I think that Ben started thinking inwardly at some point during his time as the leader. When that happened, he fell out of Jacob's favor, and he stopped having the dreams and visions that Locke now has.

6. Why are Christian and Claire at the cabin but not Jacob? Where is Jacob?

7. If the Island can be moved to another location, then it explains why a plane taking off from Nigeria could crash on an Island in the south pacific - THE ISLAND WASN'T IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC AT THE TIME!

On the freighter

1. So the Monster only actually killed one of the soldiers.

2. Guns always misfire when pointed at Michael. His work's not done yet.

3. Keamy doesn't have Cabin Fever, he's just a hothead.

4. What is Widmore telling everybody? If he just hired a crew and told them ALL the truth, none of this would be happening!

5. Omar just recieved the morse code transmission from the beach.

6. There's no way that Sayid could get to the Island before the helicopter.

The Beach

4x11 "Cabin Fever" Flashbacks

5. The drawing of the screaming face next to the swirling cloud of black smoke reminds me of the Monster. Did Locke at one time have visions of the Island?

6. Why doesn't the hunting knife belong to Locke? It could mean that John, like Ben at his young age, was not ready to be on the Island despite being special.

7. Locke has a Geronimo Jackson poster in his locker.

8. At 16, Locke is still fighting his destiny to be a scientist. Given where he is now, it looks like he won.

9. What's Abbadon doing acting as an orderly? It seems that Alpert and Widmore are both interested in Locke.

4x10 - "Something Nice Back Home" Island

2. Miles seems to hear the whispers of the dead more clearly than the other characters on this show.

3. HOW THE HELL ARE WIDMORE MERCENARIES STILL ALIVE? I have never seen anyone take a full-on hit from the monster and walk away with only minor injuries to show for it!

4. What is Christian Shepherd doing holding Aaron? Why didn't he wake Claire?

5. Why did Claire leave Aaron?

3. Hurley's still listening to Charlie. He makes regular visits during each day and delivers news about the future.

4. "You're not supposed to raise him, Jack." What is that supposed to mean? Why can't Jack raise Aaron?

5. Kate and Jack at one point actually got engaged!

6. So Christian Shepherd is appearing before Jack! That's why Jack was calling for him at the end of last season.

7. Jack asking Erika to write him a prescription for clonazepam, and then taking it with beer marks the start of Jack's personal downard spiral that brings him to the point where he is at the end of season 3.

8. Why is Kate trying to contact Sawyer? Is that even possible?

9. Why does Kate refer to Aaron as her son when she's around Jack?

4x09 - "The Shape Of Things To Come" Future

This is a Ben-centric flash forward.

1. How exactly did Ben get directly from the Island to the Sahara Desert?

2. Why did Ben need to confirm the date (10/28/2005)? Is physical time travel actually possible?

3. In the short time Sayid's been off the Island (starting at roughly January 2005), Sayid rekindled his relationship with Nadia and married her. Dang! Sayid doesn't waste any time.

4. That was an actual traffic camera photograph. Ishmail Bakir was definitely in Los Angeles at the time of Nadia's murder. Assuming he's the killer, why would Charles Widmore have Nadia killed to begin with?

5. Whether or not Charles Widmore had Ishmail Bakir kill Nadia, it's clear that Ben manipulated Sayid into killing Bakir. The real question I have to ask is why does Ben need Sayid? The only reason I can think of is that all of the Others except for Ben are either dead or incapacitated and Sayid is a last resourt for this crusade that Ben's taken up.

6. Why exactly can't Ben just kill Widmore?

7. Why is Widmore having nightmares?

8. "The hunt is on for both of us." Is Ben unable to find his way back to the Island?

1. "Australia's the key to the whole game." Should I be thinking like that?

2. Code 14-J means: "OMG WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE! THE WORLD IS ENDING AND WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!"

3. Amazing how the mercs miss Sawyer but kill everyone else in their line of sight!

4. Why did the use a rocket launcher? They could have killed Ben!

5. Claire must be blessed if she survived that explosion!

6. Where is Ben getting his information about the people on the freighter? Michael's job was just to kill everyone and sink it so there must be someone else.

7. Could someone explain the reference to Uganda for me?

8. "You changed the rules?" Am I supposed to believe that Jigsaw is in charge of this "game" that Ben and Widmore are playing? This is clearly a war, and there are no gentlemen's agreements in war.

9. Ben does not have control over the monster. If he did he wouldn't need to leave the fence on after the DHARMA takeover. Whatever he did, it was more like blowing a dog-whistle to lead the monster to the barracks, as opposed to sending a direct order with specific instructions on who and who not to kill.

3. Why is Hurley the only one to visit Sun? Why aren't Jack, Kate, or Sayid there?

4. For my next trick, I reveal to you that Jin is still alive. The date of his death on the tombstone reads 9/22/2004, the date of the plane crash. Don't take my word for it. Here's a pic.

Parting thoughts: I want to know what exactly the deal was that the Oceanic Six made in order to leave the Island and why it was only those six. Claire's separated from Aaron, and Sun had to leave Jin behind. What exactly happened here?

3. The captain seems to be very forthcoming during his meeting with Desmond and Sayid. He even revealed that the boat is owned by Charles Widmore. So why is Michael telling them not to trust the captain?

4. The crew has cabin fever? All the weirdness we've seen on the boat can be explained with cabin fever? I thought it was more like this:

5. I like Captain Gault. He's asking the same questions as me. For example: "How does one stage a fake plane crash,"
and "how does one come across 324 dead bodies?"

6. So Michael's sabotaged the engines, the communications equipment, and the kitchen. What's the goal here?

7. There was another suicide on the boat? Why wasn't the blood cleaned up?

8. Michael's going under the name "Kevin Johnson." Does Widmore do background checks, and if yes, why didn't they find out the truth about Kevin Johnson?

On the Beach

1. Ji Yeon, is what Jin would like to name the baby if it turns out to be a girl.

2. If it's not Daniel's call to rescue the survivors, then whose is it? Why is Sun so spooked by Daniel's lack of an answer that she needs to run?

3. Why is Kate helping them?

4. I didn't write this in "D.O.C." but it's clear that Sun had the affair shortly before the crash.

5. Jin is very forgiving. With that last scene between them it's fair to say that there are no more secrets between them.

1. How was Harper able to appear to Juliet in that storm and disappear just as quickly? How was she able to deliver a message from Ben, when Ben is clearly locked in a basement?

2. Why did the DHARMA Initiative keep such a large supply of poisonous gas in the first place? At least now we know why the Outsiders have the HAZMAT gear.

3. Why did Juliet lie to Jack about the Tempest's purpose?

4. Where did Charlotte get that mean streak from? It's like she's a totally different person.

5. Did Juliet really not know that Ben had used the gas to wipe out the DHARMA Initiative?

At the Barracks

1. Why was Ben curious to know if his meal had a number on it? Does he have a special bond with his lab bunnies?

2. What made Ben decide to give Locke information now as opposed to in previous episodes?

3. The boat belongs to Charles Widmore, not Penelope Widmore. Now the pieces are starting to fall together. Penelope knows about the Island because she is a part of the Widmore Group and could easily have access to that information. She knows about the boat because her father, Charles sent it to find the Island. The people on the boat weren't answering Penelope's calls because they were under orders from Charles Widmore not to answer the phone if she called. Why? Because Charles Widmore doesn't approve of Penelope and Desmond as a couple and will do just about anything to keep them broken up.

4. Who was the spy that Charles was torturing and who was videotaping it?

5. "You might wanna sit down [before I tell you who my spy is]." SHUTDOWN! I know exactly what they want us to think and it's not true. Michael can't be the spy. He was already let off of the Island by Ben. If the Widmore people found him, then there's no way they'd even consider letting him on their boat. It's someone Locke personally knows but I refuse to believe that it could be Michael.

4x06 - "The Other Woman" Flashbacks

This is a Juliet-centric, Island based flashback.

1. Introducing the Other's personal therapist, Harper Stanhope. These guys have a sheriff, a therapist, what's next? A dictator? Wait they already have that one...

2. Mr. Friendly had daddy issues too?

3. They gave Juliet her own house? Does she not realize that they were trying to keep her on the Island, well after her work would have been done?

4. When Juliet meet Goodwin, Goodwin had just received a chemical burn and he was married to Harper. Did he work at the Tempest?

5. All Ben can do is stare at Juliet while she's talking about the mysterious disease on the Island.

6. So for some reason a woman's body turns on itself when she gets pregnant on the Island. We know all that from last year, but why?

7. Who does Juliet remind Ben of and what happened to her?

8. Why did Juliet agree to come over to Ben's house to have dinner with him? It's well after the discovery of Ben's tumor.

9. What's Ben gonna do for having an extra-marital affair? How about send him into a group of plane crash survivors and make a list for starters?

10. What did Jacob put the children on the list for?

11. Ben seems to display conflicted feelings towards Goodwin's death. On on hand it's implied that his jealousy caused him to send Goodwin to deal with the Taillies. Then in "Two For the Road," he nearly kills Ana-Lucia in Goodwin's name.

12. So underneath the the calm collected cold-hearted exterior lies a jealous teenager. I have to say that I'm disappointed to learn that that's the true face of Benjamin Linus.

4x05 - "The Constant" Flashbacks

This is a Desmond-centric flashback.

I can pretty much explain what happened in this flashback. The basis for this flashback is the novel, "Slaughter-House 5" by Kurt Vonnegut. In this novel, the main character, Billy Pilgrim is "unstuck in time." While the reason for this is unclear, Pilgrim's consciouness travels back and fourth throughout various points in his life at random. Given Daniel Faraday's assertion that he unstuck Elousie in time for his experiment, we can assume that Desmond is experienceing something similar.

Other points to mention.

1. Given that Desmond is in the army, this flashback most likely takes place after "Flashes Before Your Eyes."

2. The Black Rock set sail from Portsmouth, England March 22, 1845, purportedly on a trading mission to the Kingdom of Siam. The ship was believed to have been lost at sea. Seven years later, the journal of the ship's first mate was discovered among the artifacts of pirates on Île Sainte-Marie, an island off the coast of Madagascar. This journal was believed to be the only surviving remnant of the Black Rock's ill-fated final voyage.

3. Charles Widmore is bidder #755 at a Southfield's auction for lot #2342, the journal of the Black Rock's first mate. The contents have not been published and are unknown to anyone outside the family of the seller, Tovard Hanso. (All information to this point was stolen graciously from www.lostpedia.com). What is Charles Widmore's interest in this journal? Could this be how the Widmore group is attempting to find the Island?

4. Why did Mr. Widmore give Desmond, Penelope's address?

1. Frank is following a compass bearing of 305 even though Ben told Michael to following a compass bearing of 325 in order for him to leave the island.

2. Keamy gives Sayid his word that he'll take Sayid to see Desmond. That's "Others" talk. Could Keamy be the spy?

3. Omar says that "at least we know we're still in the Pacific." Do the Outsiders not know where exactly they are?

4. Why were the new people we met on the boat so adaminant against Daniel Faraday talking to Desmond in his current predicament?

5. Minkowski is just the communications officer? Then who's running the show?

6. Why is Penelope Widmore calling the boat and why is she asking for Desmond? HOW DOES SHE KNOW HE'S ANYWHERE NEAR THE BOAT OR THE ISLAND?

7. Who sabatoged the communications equipment, who left the door open, and is it the same person?

8. Why did merely being able to see the Island unstick George and Brendon?

9. When Desmond talks to Penny, she says she knows about the Island, most likely because she's read the Black Rock journal. One question still remains one that I've been asking since the end of season two. That question is "how does Penelope know that Desmond has been on the Island all this time?"

On the Island
1. "Your preception of how long your friend's been gone? It's not how long they've actually been gone." If the survivors precieve the time to be December of 2004, when is it in the Oustide world?

2. Faraday, the answer to your question is yes, Desmond has recently been exposed to a large amount of electro-magnetism, way back at the end of season two when he turned the key. These random jumps in time are most definately the result of that.

3. What would have happened if Faraday wasn't working at the University of Oxford at all? Would Desmond have been doomed?

4. "IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG, DESMOND HUME WILL BE MY CONSTANT!" Why would anything go wrong, and would Daniel be able to meet Desmond in the time he flashed back to?

4x04 - "Eggtown" Future

This is a Kate-centric flash forward.

1. I have to say that I don't understand any of the reasoning behind Kate's decision to leave the Island. Why leave when she knows she'll be right back in handcuffs? She had to have known that she would be in a courtroom upon returning to the real world.

2. Why is Kate so adamant against bringing her son into the courtroom? How does she even have a child for that matter? By that I mean what's the "official" story?

3. Flight 815 crash-landed on an Island in the south Pacific. That is the only part of Jack's testimony which is true. The rest is all lies, which I believe to be the official story that all of the Oceanic Six have agreed to tell when asked about their ordeal by anyone. This lie is part of the deal they made to get off the Island.

4. Why is Kate's mother refusing to testify, even though Kate won't do anything for her in return.

5. Why is Kate willing to stay in California?

6. Jack won't see baby Aaron because he knows that Aaron is his nephew, and Christian Shepherd's grandson. Given how little Jack has talked about his father's death, it's clear he doesn't want to have anything to do with anything that might remind Jack of his father. Sometime between the current point in time on the Island and this flash forward, Jack will find this out. That reason makes better sense to me then Jack mistakenly believeing that Aaron is actually Sawyer's child.

7. The bigger question here is why is Kate raising Aaron, and is Aaron one of the Oceanic Six?

The Barracks

1. Ben may be Locke's prisoner once again but it's clear that Ben has the upper hand. Locke slaming the tray against a wall in frustration is just like in "Maternity Leave."

2. Why is Kate interested in what Miles may or may not know about her?

3. Is Locke truly beginning to doubt himself?

4. Why is Miles in need of $3.2 million? It sounds like a very percise number. If one's in need of money and in a position to blackmail another to get said amount of money, wouldn't they ask for more then they needed, just to get more in one's own pocket?

5. How does Miles know who Kate is by simply looking at her, while Daniel, Charlotte, and Frank don't?

6. I find it very interesting that Locke can simply walk into any of the other homes in the Barracks without knocking while everyone else has to knock on his door. Did Claire forget to lock the door or does Locke have the key?

7. Given that Locke left a live grenade in Miles' mouth, I'd say that qualifies him for dictator status.

The Beach

1. Jin's english has improved now where he can say complete sentences. Can the Island improve one's intelligence because he's only been studying english for about 55 days.

2. Why does Sun want to go back to Korea?

3. Why is the phone unable to call the boat?

4. What are Daniel and Charlotte doing with those playing cards? Is it a parapsychology experiment? Could this mean that the Outsiders are trying to reach the Island to continue the work of the DHARMA Initiative?

5. What happened to the helicopter? Why isn't it at the boat?

4x03 - "The Economist" Future

1. Who is Mr. Avellino, why was he so scared of Sayid after learning who he is, and why did Sayid kill him?

2. Why did Sayid become Ben's "secret agent man?" No seriously, this episode has him looking like James Bond.

3. Who is Elisa's boss and why was Sayid trying to kill him?

4. Elisa was wearing a bracelet similar to the one Namoi was wearing. Were they both part of the same group?

Parting thoughts: Not a lot that we actually learned here. We don't know what Sayid is trying to accomplish, and I'm very disapointed that the flashfowards are being aired out of order. I was at least hoping to know how much time had passed since the Oceanic Six had left the Island.

1. Miles doesn't even know who Ben is. All the team knows is that their orders are to find Ben.

Random thought: Marsha Thomason must have the easiest job of any actress in Hollywood right now. She's only had one or two scenes per episode and all she's had to do in most of her scenes this season is lay perfectly still.

3. Finally Sayid's asking the questions we are. Like, "Why is Naomi claiming to be looking for Desmond when they're clearly here to find Ben?"

4. Why does Jacob's cabin change it's location? What is that grey powder that was surrounding the circumference of it's location in "The Man Behind The Curtain?"

5. Why is Locke so certain that the survivors can't compromise with the Outsiders?

6. Miles doesn't seem to care too much about the fact that Locke's afraid of him.

7. Daniel is doing unsanctioned science expirments on the island. The timers read 2:45:03 and 3:16:22, even though they were both started at the same time the payload was launched. Is there a time distortion on the Island?

8. Lapidus is a Yankee fan! Woot! Will Jack ever accept that the Sox actually won?

9. With all those different forms of currency and all those different passports, I'd have to say that Ben spends a good amount of time off the Island.

10. Good question Sawyer, why would Kate want to leave the Island?

11. "Be sure to follow the exact same bearing that we came in on." Would that be a compass bearing of 325?

1. Why does Locke always stand out in the rain like that? He did the same thing in the pilot too.

2. It seems that ordinary people can't see Jacob's cabin, and that Jacob's cabin also seems to be able to change it's location. Does that make Hurley special?

3. Walt told John to kill Naomi? What does Locke mean when he says Walt saved his life? I always thought that John saved himself.

4. Shouldn't the castaways have learned by now to PUT A GAG ON BEN'S MOUTH? Given all the provocative he says, I'm actually wondering if Ben's a masochist.

5. So Locke's group has captured Charlotte.

6. Why does it matter to Charlotte if Claire had her baby on the Island?

7. Why is Charlotte wearing a bullet-proof vest and not the others?

8. Why are the Outsiders here for Ben?

9. So Ben will give answers but only when his back is up against a wall.

1. Miles was in Inglewood, California at the time the news broke.

2. The news report on Miles' radio says that "a salvage mission is unlikely." Why is that?

3. Who is the murdered grandson? The camera lingers on his photograph on the bottom of the staircase twice during this scene.

4. What is the contraption that Miles is using?

5. Why doesn't Miles tell the grandmother about the roll of cash and the drugs?

Charlotte Lewis - Anthropologist

1. Charlotte was in Medenine, Tunisia at the time the news broke. She doesn't believe the report.

2. What is a polar bear doing in Tunisia? WHAT IS A POLAR FROM THE DHARMA HYDRA STATION DOING IN TUNISIA FOR THAT MATTER?

Frank Lapidus - Pilot, formerly in the employ of Oceanic Airlines

1. Frank was in Eluthera in the Bahamas when the news broke.

2. Is Seth Norris really the pilot? It seems to me that he doesn't look anything like Greg Grunberg, the actor who actually played the pilot way back in season one.

3. The news report says that "recovering the bodies will be next to impossible."

4. If that's not Seth Norris, then does that mean there's a plane full of 324 innocent people who's lives were sacrificed to fake a plane crash?

5. Frank was supposed to be the pilot of 815? Why wasn't he there?

Naomi

1. Why pick a bunch of people with no military training for an extraction mission?

2. Matthew Abbadon is definitely not a lawyer for Oceanic 815.

3. Why is Matthew saying that "there were no survivors of Oceanic 815?" Is that an implied "kill them all" order?

4. If Ben has a man in Naomi's group, then it could explain why they knew the plane crashed on the Island. Ben's spy got caught, and he gave up everything he knew under duress. It explains why Ben knew they were coming for him, and how they knew about the plane AND Desmond.

4x01 - "The Beginning Of The End" Future

2. It seems that Hurley finally fixed that car from "Tricia Tanaka Is Dead." Why was Jack so interested in Hurley's run-in with the law?

4. "One of the Oceanic Six?" We have Hurley, Kate, and Jack but who are the rest? Why was Hurley even alerting his arresting officers to that fact? Are they immune from prosecution?

5. The interrogating officer was Ana-Lucia's partner.

6. I don't talk about the opening credits but Dominic Monaghan is still listed as a regular. I wonder what capacity he'll be on the show.

7. Was that image of Charlie breaking through the glass real or fake?

8. Is Hurley in the same mental hospital as before? If so, then where's Lenoard?

9. Who exactly is Matthew Abbadon? An attourney for a major company wouldn't leave his business card at home. Why is he offering to put Hurley in a better institution. Why is he asking if the other survivors are still alive? What is the official story about the plane crash?

10. Is that really Charlie? Other people can see him so it's not a hallucination! He says "I am dead, but I'm also here." What does that even mean? Was Charlie fished out of the Looking Glass? What does he mean by saying "they need you, Hugo?" What does Hurley have to do?

11. "Checking to see if I was gonna tell?" Tell what? What are the Oceanic Six not telling the public?

12. "I think it wants us to come back." What is this "it?" Is it the Island? The Monster perhaps? Why is Jack so sure that they're never going back?

Some post-ep analysis: If Hurley is driving that specific car, then that would mean that Hurley patched things up with his father. We can even assume that Hurley is happy in his life after leaving the Island coming into this flash-foward. Is that why he is running from the thing Charlie says he needs to do?

*I need to explain my thinking here. Prior to boarding flight 815, Jack was drinking at the airport bar. He had at one maybe two drinks there and at least one more on the plane before Cindy gave him two extra mini-bottles just moments before the crash. I think this is actually the start of the downward spiral, a downward spiral which got interrupted as a result of the crash, and resumed after Jack returned to Los Angeles, taking Jack to the rock bottom we see him in "Through The Looking Glass."

4x01 - "The Beginning Of The End" Island

1. Jack really wants to kill Locke? The power struggle between will probably come to a head this season if he's that serious.

2. Why is Ben so convinced that the people coming to the Island are going to kill everyone currently there? Why does he even consider Alex to be his daughter?

3. Bernard is the first person to believe Hurley's story about winning the lottery. Add his cannonball dive and I think Hurley is the happiest he's ever been on this show.

4. "Naomi went to get some firewood." Priceless! How did Naomi get up from that knife wound?

5. I guess Kate stealing the satellite phone from Jack makes them even for Jack not letting Kate carry the dynamite in "Exodus Part 2."

6. Sawyer's being genuinely nice to Hurley? Seems that killing Anthony Cooper really did free him from his past.

7. How did Hurley of all people find Jacob's cabin? I don't think he took the same route as Ben and John in "The Man Behind The Curtain." What was Christian Shepherd doing in the rocking chair? How the cabin disappear?

8. Ben is definately getting a kick out of taunting Jack about the phone. Is he gonna be the new comic relief now?

9. Naomi seems to be convinced that her people are there to rescue Desmond. She didn't even give up John Locke for throwing a knife into her gut. Why does Ben believe different? Who's her sister?

10. Why is Locke walking around with an empty gun? If blowing up a submarine in the best interest of the group, then what is Locke's overall goal? Why does Locke so sure that the people trying to get to the Island are dangerous?

11. With the number of people that are gonna hole up in Wysteria Lane (aka the Barracks), they could put up one hell of a fight for their survival.

12. Seems like that helicopter was able to get away from the Island just fine. What did that pilot do that Naomi didn't?

The negotiations between the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) for a new contract are at a standstill. The primary demands of the WGA are for larger residuals from video/dvd sales, online downloads, and a cut of advertising money from online episode streams. These are demands that the AMPTP would never be willing to give in to, let alone compromise over.

Most networks are going to air their new episodes and then interrupt the season until the strike is over. In the case of Lost, only eight episodes have completed production. According to TV Guide's Michael Ausiello ABC may air the eight episodes regardless as to how long the lasts. However, if the strike lasts for too long, there is no telling as to when the remaining eight episodes will even get filmed. Which brings me to my next point.

I feel the duration of the strike is in the hands of the AMPTP. DVD sales are expected to generate over $14 billion and online downloads are expected to generate $195 million. On the DVD front, it's clear that business is booming. On the iTunes front, it's clear that business is only starting to take off. It is my opinion that the AMPTP can afford to meet the demands of the WGA or at least offer a fair compromise.

Since I enjoy Lost, Heroes, and have enjoyed a number of brilliant shows that are no longer airing, I know that any good show starts with the writing. A production crew can make it look pretty, but only a talented writer can make numerous refernces to Light and Dark in so many trivial areas, ala a backgammon board. For this reason I have chosen to support with the writers in this matter.

A discrepency in the timeline...

Given the timeline of events established on this show, there may be a contradiction in the apparent timeline of events that has been laid out for us. This contradiction is centered around Joe/Kelvin Inman.

We know now that Alex was born in 1988. Rousseau confirms this when she says in "Through the Looking Glass," that she recorded her distress signal three days before Alex was born. Given that Alex was taken by the Others one week after she was born, we can infer that the DHARMA Purge happened sometime before 1988.

Now lets take a moment and go back to "One Of Them." In Sayid's flashback, Joe Inman was the CIA agent who manipulated Sayid into interrogating and torturing Sayid's own superior officer. This flashback could only have occured in 1991, in Gulf War I.

Then we fast foward to 2001, where in "Live Together, Die Alone," Desmond's boat crashes on the shore of the Island, where he is quickly pulled into the Swan. The man who pulled him in is none other then, Kelvin Inman. Now throughout this flashback Kelvin says that he joined the DHARMA Initiative, that he left the army "because soldiers followed my orders," and that he was a "spook," or CIA agent, for 10 years.

Given Kelvin's military and CIA background I'm going to assume that he changed his name from Joe Inman sometime after Gulf War I. However the question remains, when did he join the DHARMA Initiative? I'm assuming that they kept much of their original personel intact right up to the Purge and given the fact that Kelvin was in Iraq in 1991, he couldn't have joined until after the Gulf War. He can't be one of Ben's people because he tried to leave the Island, and all the Others at that time were still loyal to Ben and would not leave unless Ben asked them to. I don't think anyone joined DHARMA after the purge so how do we explain Kelvin? LINDELOF! CUSE! ANSWERS NOW! SHUTDOWN!

3x22 - "Through the Looking Glass" Future (?)

This entire flashback was the "Rattlesnake" twist the writers had planned for this finale. I don't know if this is meant to be a glimpse into what happens after everybody eventually leaves the Island of if everything that happens on the Island is now considered to be a flashback. Hence the question mark. Until I hear an official podcast, then that's what I'm calling this post. Well here I go!

1. It seems that quite some time has passed since Jack got off the Island, and he seems to be more like his father. At least in regards to the alcoholism. Notably he's still flying Oceanic.

2. The newspaper is the April 5, 2007 edition of the LA Times. How did Jack fall so far in such a short time? Who's obituary is that, and why does it have Jack making a phone call, and standing at the edge of a bridge ready to jump soon after? Why did he run back and save the people in the car crash? Looks like he still needs things to fix.

3. Why did Jack still have Sarah listed as his emergency contact? Wouldn't he have changed it after the divorce? Oddly enough he didn't say "Goodbye Sarah."

4. Oh boy, Jack's even popping pills now AND he wants to do the surgery on the injured mother? He's worse then his father. Now he's Jack "House" Shepherd M.D. Yep, he still needs to fix anything but himself.

5. Who is in the casket and why did they only get a viewing and not an actual funeral? Why was Jack the only one who showed up?

6. Why did Jack say his father wrote the new prescription? It's an obvious lie, isn't it?

7. The drug Jack became addicted to is oxycodone, also known as Hillbilly Heroin (very addictive). It's hard for one to get refills for it as they are not permitted, so how did Jack manage to get two.

8. "You get my father down here right now. Get him down here. And if I'm drunker then he is, you can fire me." HOLD THE PHONE! Is Christian Shepherd really alive? Does that mean that Jack was transporting an empty coffin on flight 815 all along? I'm trying to remember if Jack has ever specifically said that his father is dead.

9. Why is Kate no longer on the run from the law? Who is the "he" that will be wondering where Kate is if she doesn't get back? My first guess is Sawyer, but he doesn't strike me as being controlling to the point of overbearing.

10. Why is Jack so desperate to go back to the Island? What is he sick of lying about? Why was it a mistake? Why do they all have to go back?

Parting thoughts: The fact that Jack is a complete wreck after returning to LA seems to fit in with the basic premise of the show. The castaways are people who are lost in their lives, who then became physically lost in the world. When they could find themselves in their lives, they could physically be found in the world. Since Jack didn't find himself in his life, he wasn't ready to be physically found in the world. Could this ring true for some of the other survivors as well?

I'm going to guess that season four will have a time jump of sorts. Instead of having flashbacks, the flashes will center on how the characters react to being off the island. This could allow Michael and even Walt to come back into the mix, albeit in the present. The flashbacks will then be on the Island, covering what happened between the phone call and the eventual rescue.

That's all for now. I may update this if Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse rehash this episode in their next podcast and I hear something noteworthy. If not then I'll be idle on her until season four, but that doesn't mean I won't update this from time to time. It just depends if anything Lost that's newsworthy comes out here. 3x22 - "Through the Looking Glass" Present(?)

Sayid, Jin, Bernard, Locke, and Jack's crew
1. Tense moments all around for the Losties. Jin sums up the reason for fighting the Others perfectly and in perfect english. "We have to go home." How many of the people in Jack's group are armed for their trek to the radio tower?

2. It seems the teams that were sent to extract the women had military training at some point in their lives. That would explain why they were able to sneak up on the tallies during the first 48 days. If Juliet hadn't told Jack what was happening, they could have been gone before anyone knew they were there.

3. Bernard isn't a very tough not to crack, he told them everything and they didn't need to press him for it.

4. Sawyer's so concerned about Kate that he's worried she might be pregnant. So worried that he doesn't use any nicknames when talking to her anymore.

5. Sawyer teaming up with Juliet? Juliet kissing Jack? This all seemed wrong just a few episodes ago.

6. Why are the Others building a runway?

7. Why did the Island appear to Locke in the form of Walt instead of Boone? Or could that have really have been Walt?

8. Jack really loves Kate, so why is he with Juliet?

9. How could Rousseau want to stay on the Island after all the suffering she has been through? I would think that she would rather return to the real world then stay there.

10. What makes Ben think he can get through to Jack? He has to know that Jack is the most stubborn out of all the castaways.

11. Who is Naomi working for if she's not working for Widmore? Why does she have a photograph of Desmond and Penelope? Why does her employer know about the Island and why are they looking for it? How does Ben know all this?

12. Ben's right about Jack having nothing worthwhile to go back to in his old life.

13. The long awaited meeting between Alex and Rousseau is finally here!

14. The Hurleymobile returns! The deaths of the Tom, Pryce and Jason, and the sucessful rescue of Sayid, Jin and Bernard means a total victory for the Losties! It's been a long time coming.

15. Since the Looking Glass blocked all transmissions except for the Others' one frequency, it would explain why Rousseau's transmission was never recieved.

16. Why is Locke so determined to keep everybody on the Island? Why was Jack "not supposed to do this?"

17. Minkowski is the man who answered the phone and said he could even trace the call back to it's origin point. Was it really that easy to find the Island?

Charlie and Desmond

1. Charlie is one tough nut to crack. That's what happens when you live a day like it's your last.

2. Was it just me, or is Mikhail a really bad shot? He actually forced Desmond to go into the Looking Glass. How was Desmond able to sneak into that locker?

3. Mikhail says that Bonnie and Greta were supposed to be on assignment in Canada. How much work do the Others do off the Island, and why all the allusions to our neighbors to the north? You have Ethan who is from Ontario, and Nathan (they didn't say where he was from).

4. Seems the rest of the Others did not know that the Looking Glass was still working, let alone not being flooded. What is Ben up to?

5. Doesn't it look like Mikhail's right eye has been permantly shut?

6. Why is the code the notes for "Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys? Who was the musician that programmed the keypad? Was it Brian Wilson? Now we know why only Charlie could enter the code.

7. So for all the things Mikhail can do, work with communications equpiment, treat injuries, and basically everything else a soldier can do, the one thing he can't seem to do is DIE! I could understand the sonic barrier, but I can't understand how he is still alive after taking a spear to the chest!

8. So Penelope Widmore knows the frequency to contact the DHARMA Initaitve but she doesn't know that they're on an Island? Apparently she didn't even know that Desmond was there, or about Naomi?

9. Long live Charlie Pace. He sacrifced himself to save Desmond and even managed to scribble "NOT PENNY'S BOAT" before the room completely flooded. In an episode full of heroes, Charlie is the greatest one of them all!

Ben, and Alex

1. Apparently Ben has been lying to even his own people about the Looking Glass. This kind of leadership is something I'd expect from John Locke. Why didn't it occur to Ben that Juliet would betray him?

2. So Ben now knows Alex and Karl betrayed him too. Actually, Alex has been betraying Ben for quite a while. She freed Claire, and she helped Kate and Sawyer escape.

3. What is this temple that Ben is sending Richard and the rest of the Others to? Is it another Dharma station or is it an actual temple. Why isn't Ben telling his people what really happened at the beach last night?

4. Who are these new forces that want to get to the Island? Why isn't Ben telling anyone about this situation? Why is Ben ordering Mikhail to kill Bonnie and Gretta and why is Mikhail so trusting of Ben?

5. Ben didn't want Karl to get Alex pregnant? I think the attempted brainwashing of Karl was too exreme, even with what's at stake.

6. Why is Ben choosing to give Alex back to Rousseau now?

7. Why did Ben decide to fake the deaths of Sayid, Jin and Bernard instead of actually having them killed? The teams that went to the beach clearly had live ammo, so it's not like the Others have qualms about killing.

Parting thoughts: Where do I begin? This was such a feel good, happy episode that I was just waiting for everything to go to hell at the end. The Losties completely defeated the Others, killing the team sent to the beach, and disabling the Looking Glass. It all happened so well that I was on my feet for the last 45 minutes. I doubt it's still going to be smooth sailing from here on out though. The Others might still be looking to retilate, and there are still a good deal of questions to answer about the Island. Whatever happens next, I'll still be here blogging away.

3x21 - "Greatest Hits" Present

Six Hours Earlier

Ben's losing his nerve and his control over his people. He's lying about John Locke, furious about the fact that Jacob spoke to Locke, and has ordered the raiding party to capture all the women and kill anyone who gets in the way. The showdown is on folks! Alex tells Carl and tells him to inform the Losties!

On another note, Alex seems to be doubting that Ben is her biological father.

Present time

1. So Rousseau is gathering dynamite for Jack to make mines! The Others are about to get PWN3D! Jack's finally being a good leader. Maybe we should call him Captain Jack?

2. Naomi is from Manchester. She says that Charlie is "The Dead Rockstar," and the Driveshaft has a greatest hits album. Charlie is bigger now then he was before the crash! NICE!

3. Desmond saw a rescue helicopter with Claire on it. How far into the future is that vision?

4. "Flick the switch, the light goes off, and then you drown."

5. The underwater hatch is called "The Looking Glass," used to block out virtually all communications on the island. It is connected to the island by the cable that led Sayid to Rousseau, and it has a moonpool for a submarine to dock. Since it's supposidly flooded, it's a suicide mission for one to go down there.

6. Charlie can hold his breath for FOUR minutes.

7. Rose and Bernard are still here! They must have been brought back into the timeline when P**** and N**** died! And they're knot experts too! Bernard can shoot accurately too! He's officially too cool to die on this show.

8. Sun's lying to Jin again. The baby can't be healthy if it was concieved on the island.

9. THE OTHERS ARE COMING RIGHT NOW! Like I said, the showdown is on.

10. Could that kiss be the last Charlie and Claire moment we ever see? And that moment with Charlie and Hurley saying goodbye. This episode has the trappings of a farewell to Charlie.

11. Claire didn't notice that Charlie's ring is in Aaron's crib. That doesn't feel like a good sign.

12. So now Desmond thinks he's supposed to die in Charlie's place? HEY! That was my theory! I hope the musical score for this scene makes it into the season 3 soundtrack.

13. So the Looking Glass isn't flooded, and it's clearly guarded. I don't think Charlie has a gun with him this time. How will he be able to get to the switch now?

3x21 - "Greatest Hits" Flashbacks

Charlie you friggin rock! You did half my work for me in this episode! Thanks man. I wish I could pay you back by going "Through the Looking Glass" myself but I don't know how to get there in the next hour. I will do you justice by putting your greatest hits in my blog where you will be forever immortalized!

5. "The First Time I Heard Myself On the Radio." Driveshaft's van broke down in the middle of nowhere, it's pouring rain, and as Charlie and Liam are arguing, "You All Everybody," is played on the van's radio. Typical band story, but sweet none the less.

4. "Dad Teaching Me How To Swim At Butlins." Self explanitory, but there's also the brilliant metaphor for the leap of faith that Charile will have to take at the end of this episode. It was also nice to see a character's father appear in this episode without the "Daddy Issues" that have been so well known in the Lost flashbacks.

3. "The Christmas Liam Gave Me the Ring." Liam gave Charlie the DS ring and said that Charlie would settle down, get married, have children, and live a happy healthy life. Ironically this is the life the Liam is living now. Also, did Charlie have the threesome he confessed about in his first flashback just then?

2. "Woman Outside Covent Garden Calls Me A Hero." HEY! THAT WAS NADIA THAT CHARLIE RESCUED! He was the FOURTH person to see the attempted mugging and the only one to help. He is a hero then. NOW GO TO NEW YORK AND STOP THE BOMB FROM EXPLODING!

1. "The Night I Met You." Charlie's first ever meeting with Claire took place on the night of the plane crash.

Parting thoughts: Charlie has been a great character on this show, who's growth has gone largely unoticed due to the fact that he isn't always playing a big role in all the events, ala Jack or Sayid. Despite this, if he dies this in this season, Charlie probably will be the only character to recieve a ture sendoff.

Another great TV show getting screwed over...

Okay, I assume you all have heard the news by now, Lost will have a grand total of forty-eight episodes remaining after this season (ratings permitting). In a normal TV schedule, that's enough for two more seasons. However, ABC and Bad Robot have agreed that the remaining forty-eight will be aired over three seasons, sixteen episodes per season. I personally, am disappointed at this news. Lost is a show which deserves, needs, and thrives on twenty-plus episode seasons. I have always enjoyed watching the major story arcs play out in each season, with a little bit more unfolding in each episode. In the grand scheme of things, I have yet to be completely disappointed by a story resolution, and I seriously doubt I will be disappointed at the end of season three.

So I have to ask why the change? Why now? Despite the harsh criticism that many have had about the show earlier this season (myself included), it's very clear that Lost is still running as strong as it was when it first started back in 2004. If each sixteen episode pod is going to be approached as a seperate season, instead of two seasons in three years, then these new story arcs will end much sooner, and they won't be built up as much as they have been in the first three seasons. It should be clear by now that the writers are slowly moving towards an end to their story, and ABC shouldn't be trying to influence how the writers should able to tell the story, and allow the show to end in two more seasons with twenty-four episodes each as the writers had said in earlier interviews.

But what do I know? I'm just a blogger with an addiction to Lost. This is after all just my opinion on their agreement, and the show could turn out to thrive even better on the shortened seasons.

1. Today is Benjamin's birthday, and has just now found out about the missing tape recorder. On it are instructions for the Medical Hatch.

2. Okay, it's official, the mysterious Jacob is the leader of the Others.

3. Jacob only talks to Benjamin? Reminds me a lot of this:

4. Why doesn't anyone stop Locke from beating the crap out of Mikhail? Why is Alex giving Locke a gun for that matter? Looks like Ben's losing his authority.

5. The good people at Lostpedia have a screen grab of Jacob's silhouette so there is definately someone else in that cabin. Why couldn't Locke see him? Could it have something to do with the fact that he didn't kill his father?

6. Assuming that Jacob is real, why doesn't he like technology? That whole place shook when Locke turned on the flashlight. Why did he ask Locke for help? Does Ben have some sort of hold over Jacob?

7. Is John Locke dead? I'd be willing to believe that the Island would heal him, but Ana-Lucia died of a single gunshot wound to the chest as well.

On the Beach

1. What made Juliet tell Jack about here mission? Is this part of Ben's plan?

2. Ben told Juliet to mark the tents of anyone who's pregnant? That sounds like the story of Passover with the Hebrews marking their houses in blood so the Angel Of Death won't kill their firstborn sons.

3. Jack's answer is simply that he was deciding what to do? That's convient. If he wasn't aware of this impending raid by the Others until just now, he should have made a point to inform the camp immediately!

3x20 - "The Man Behind the Curtain" Flashbacks

1. Benjamin Linus was born to Roger and Emily Linus not on the Island but 32 miles outside of Portland, Oregon? His mother's dying words were for the baby to be called Benjamin. Ben was born two months early. Why has Ben been lying about his birth?

2. Ben now a young child, arrives on the Island and is greeted by Horace. Horace is offering Roger a job. I guess we know who Roger is now. Ben doesn't talk much but will say something "when he has something to say."

3. Who is Annie in the present? Is she supposed to be Ben's long lost love that I've read about?

4. What is going on between the "Hostiles" and DHARMA? It sounded like a war outside of Ben's classroom.

5. Was that Ben's mother outside of the window? I thought the Monster couldn't get past the fence. What does she mean by that "it's not time yet?"

6. So Ben's father blames him for Emily's death. That's why he always ignores Ben's birthday. So Ben is just like so many other people on the Island, he's got daddy issues too.

7. The combination to turn off the fence is: 54439. How did Ben get it in the first place?

8. Whoa, Richard Alpert was a hippie! Plus he doesn't seem to have aged all that much. And he was a Hostile. They seem pretty friendly for people who are giving DHARMA all that trouble. Why couldn't Ben join the Hostiles yet?

9. Ben killed Roger in the van and betrayed the others. Was that what he needed to do in order to join the Others? Is that why he can see Jacob while Locke, who didn't kill his father can't?

3x19 "The Brig" Present

Locke and Sawyer

1. Locke is seen at the beginning of this episode burning the file on Sawyer. Note the he has an on-island flashback this week. Michael's last flashback was also on island, and the first time we saw him in the present, he was burning Ms. Klugh's list. Terry O' Quinn isn't leaving the show is he?

2. Exactly how many times has Kate slept with Sawyer. Is she going to get pregnant? Here's another thought: flash back to "The Whole Truth." Sun asks Kate if she has ever taken a pregnancy test, to which Kate responds that she did. Is it possible that at one time she tried to have a child and learned that she was sterile? LINDELOF! CUSE! KATE FLASHBACK NOW!

3. Why can't Locke kill? I didn't think about this before but it seems that Jack, Locke, Sayid, and Sawyer (until now that is), never killed anyone since their arrival on the Island, even though each one of them had possesion of a loaded gun at least once during the series.

4. What is Rousseau getting more explosives for?

5. So Cooper was simply captured by operatives of the Others outside of the Island and transported there shortly before Locke blew up the submarine. How was he actually brought to the Island is another question I'd like to know. Cooper actually thought he killed Locke.

6. SAWYER! ANTHONY COOPER IS THE REAL MR. SAWYER! There is no conicdence on this show. Just keep saying that to yourself from this point foward. And he really thinks he's in hell. Well he's really there now!

7. When did Locke steal the tape recorder? Surely Ben has to know about it. Juliet and possibly Jack are in for a rough three days.

Jack, Juliet, the Camping Four, and Naomi

1. Desmond's right to tell his camping buddies to not trust Jack. Jack's spent more time in the Other's camp then anyone else and we still don't know what happened during the time after Kate and Sawyer escaped and the time they reached the barracks. Seems Hurley was right to trust Desmond.

2. The newcomer's name is Naomi, who's helicopter took off from a ship 80 nautical miles northwest of the Island. Naomi is part of a search and recovery team that is looking for Desmond, who were hired by the Widmore group. She was surveying the area the Island is supposed to be in and saw nothing until three days ago? HOW IS THE ISLAND STAYING HIDDEN FROM PLAIN SIGHT?

3. AN ENTIRE PLANE CRASH WAS STAGED WITH 324 DEAD PEOPLE? Who could do such a thing and why? How for that matter? What was in the black box? How was the plane found to begin with?

4. The satellite phone is blocked by some interference that's originating from the Island. It's not Rousseau's repeating distress call that's doing this.

5. Kate is a moron. She still trusts Jack even though she knows full well he's been with the Others for at least 10 days! What secrets are Jack and Juliet keeping from the rest of the group?

3x19 "The Brig" Flashbacks

1. Over a year ago, shortly before season 2 began, I had hashed out a theory that Locke was so dedicated to discovering the secrets of the Island that he would even go so far as to join the Others to achieve that goal. I still have the Myspace email I sent if anyone here doubts me.

2. So Locke never tried to convince the Others to take Kate with them. Why did he lie to her?

3. I didn't know that Anthony Cooper was a cannibal. He seemed to have a hunger for his own son.

1. Cindy says the everyone at the Others' camp has been waiting for John. Why?

2. Ben seems very trusting of Locke. He tells Locke flat out that they're planning a raid on the camp.

3. How did Locke help Ben to regain his ability to walk? What does Ben mean by the fact that the Island can do so much more?

4. Why is Ben trying to get Locke to kill out of revenge? Vengence doesn't always bring closure to the so-called avenger. I find this strange seeing how the Others as a group took no revenge over the deaths of Ethan, Goodwin, Colleen, and Pickett.

5. Is that supposed to be a totem pole that Cooper is tied to?

1. Locke's wound healed almost as quickly as Ben's legs. How is the Island doing this?

2. Locke's recovery from his spinal injury as a result of being on the Island means he's "very special." How so?

3. So Richard is also secretly against Ben. He called the fertility problems a novelty. How is that a novelty? What purpose are the Others really on the Island for? How do the Others know that it was specifically Anthony Cooper who played the real Sawyer?

1. "It's your mess, why would we clean it up?" "Don't tell me what I can't do." Do the Others really know the Castaways that well?

3x18 - "D.O.C." Present

Sun and Juliet

1. Men have 5x the average sperm-count on the island. Could that mean then that the island has an effect on the DNA of all the males who come there, and that therefore makes them incompatable with women? That could explain why a pregnant woman's body treats the fetus like a foreign invader when she gets pregnant on the island.

2. I knew it! Jin's the father! Does this mean that Sun will die?

3. So Juliet has been sent into the Losties' camp to spy on Sun. Will Sun get captured by the end of this season?

4. On another note, could Kate be pregnant?

Charlie, Jin, Hurley, Desmond, and Naomi

1. The obvious question I have to ask is: WHY IS MIKHAIL STILL ALIVE? Am I to believe that the ultrasonic pulse that keeps just about anything alive and the monster too DOESN'T KILL?

2. Hurley is a complete moron in this episode. He fires the flare gun which leads Mikhail to the group. Then he lets slip to Mikhail about the satellite phone.

3. Naomi was speaking 5 different languages: Portuguese, Italian, Chinese, Spanish, and English. In Portugese she says, "I am not alone." Could other Widmore people be coming to the island?

4. The Korean army sure teaches some good CQC. Jin kicked Mikhail's ass this week.

5. Why did Mikhail try to steal the satellite phone? Could this mean that it can be repaired? That could allow for communications with the outside world! IT'S RESCUE TIME LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!

6. How is it that there are no survivors of flight 815? What did they find that confirmed that the plane had crashed? Where did they find what ultimately passed for the plane (according to the news headlines we saw in "One Of Us?" 815 dropped off the radar.)? WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE OUTSIDE WORLD?

3x18 - "D.O.C." Flashbacks

1. Jin's mother was a prostitute and later we learn that Jin's father may not even be his real father. This puts a whole new dimension on Jin's daddy issues. That would be crazy if Jin were ever to learn the truth.

2. Sun has been pretending to not know what her father does. Wow, this takes the "Sun is a liar" theme to a whole new level. She borrowed the money to pay off Jin's mother, and Jin doesn't even realize that he has to pay it off himself. And now we know why Jin became a hitman in "...in Translation."

3. Jin was in the army? That explains why he knew how to load a gun in "The Glass Ballerina."

4. Sun knows the truth about Jin's father? Exactly how many facades is she putting up to protect/not hurt Jin?

3x17 - "Catch 22" Present

Wow, I haven't really had to divide my blog amongst two groups of characters in a while. Who should I do first?

Desmond, Charlie, Hurley, and Jin

1. Desmond's flash - Charlie trips one of Rousseau's traps causing a crossbow to fire an arrow at his neck, then things rewind and we see Hurley lifting up the electrical cable, a red light blinking in the night sky, the photograph of Desmond and Penelope, and Charlie, Jin, and Hurley holding the paracheute cloth to catch the mystery woman as she falls, and one final shot of Penelope as the flash ends.

2. Now that I think about it, Jin really seems to be fitting in with the other survivors. Starting from season one and going foward: he was on the raft that he helped build, he assisted Sayid with sailing Desmond's boat, he helped repair the van, and most recently joined this party of four on a trek through the jungle.

3. How did the mystery woman, Naomi (according to TLC) manage to eject and get so far over from the helicopter? Unless I'm mistaken, her helicopter broke apart while it was still over the ocean.

4. Naomi was carrying that photograph of Desmond and Penelope in a portiguese copy of "Catch 22." Does this mean that she's part of that group of people we saw at the end of season 2?

5. This clearly proves that Penelope was indeed searching for the Island with the goal of finding Desmond. How does she know that he could be there? I doubt her father would have told her. Furthermore, does this mean that Charles Widmore sabatoged the "Elizabeth" so the Desmond would wind up on the Island?

6. Where did the helicopter launch from? Is there another outpost close by?

7. What exactly does Widmore know about the Island?

Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Juliet

The love-(insert correct shape analogy here), between these four got interesting here. Kate had sex with Sawyer to try and to forget about Jack and Juliet or make Jack jealous. I'm annoyed at people who critized the writers for throwing in "too much sex." I recall reading an article last summer in which Carlton Cuse said that it was there plan to have some of the characters enter sexual relationships. It only looks like they may be jumping the shark cuz the ratings are lower then last year, but this seems to be all part of the writers' plan.

3x17 - "Catch 22" Flashbacks

1. Desmond was a monk before he met Penny.

2. Campbell mentions the fact that the winery, Moriah Vinyerds took their name from the mountain where Abraham was asked to kill Issac. That ultimately proved to be God testing Abraham's faith, which makes me wonder, would Charlie not die if Desmond were to ignore his flashes?

3. Desmond was engaged before he met Penny? It's not suprising that he left her at the altar and "ran away." Running away is a constant theme in Desmond's flashbacks.

4. What did Campbell believe Desmond's greater destiny to be? It almost sounds like it could be something greater then pushing the button and turning the key doesn't it?

5. Kudos to the Lost Community for this one - there's a photograph of Campbell and Mrs. Hawking (did I get that right) in this episode. I'm going to argue that she does in fact run the jewerly store that Desmond attempted the buy his engagement ring for Penelope. Could she be a relative of Campbell's and therefore share a similar clairevoyance?

6. Charles Widmore sure drinks a lot of wine. Could he be an alcoholic?
